This thing is great for Rock of all kinds, If you want to play drop D or rhythem it's amazing. If for leads it's still great but the jumbo frets are a little large for that. Wonderful over all guitar, amazing paint and finish.

Sound is awesome, love the over all drive, however you definitly want ot get a set of Seymour Duncans in it asap. I never even played mine without duncans in them, The sound really depends on the effect EQ and Pickups, but over all it has Nice sustain, amazing playability and when used with a POD XT LIVE it comes to life for real.

The neck is very short in length which I prefer, it makes me with short arms much easier, Pickups and everything were easily adjusted, and the Headstock has awesoem hardware in it. The action is fantastic mine doesn't buzz at all and yet is very easy to play. DId not loose tune after many weeks of playing it. Over all just outstanding for my style of music

Very durable, paint will go away very quick though I did ding it once and that you must watch for but then again all my guitars are like that. Never had anyt problems at all, the Strap buttons from factory are just fine, but I prefer ones with locks so I canged mine out. I've played live and it holds up just fine, the finish is great but as I said before don't ding it.

I've been playing for over 10 years and I own a bunch of other gear, play in a live band. to hear a sample of this guitar played check out this page www.myspace.com/katalystband
Rescue me is done with this guitar, I'd definitly buy this guitar all over again. I love the over all playability, and as I said the jumbo frets do make it a little hard for lead lines, not terrible but it's really a hard rockin strum guitar. I compared it to about 100 gutiars at GuitarCenter and totally loved it.

I bought this used on Ebay for $300.00, it was basically in mint condition, hardly ever used. I don't know who Terry Corso is, nor do I care, I just liked the style.
A really cool body style, very thick and chunky. Deep arched top;(i love that, reminds me of women) a lot of things go down hill from here.
I was dissapointed to find the neck on this particular guitar is thick and wide, a handful! I am used to a little slimmer ( not quite a Wizard ) neck profile, oh well,I can make it work. So if you do a lot of acrobatic Lead playing, your probably gonna be bummed. Good for rythym though.
The natural flamed maple top was nice. everything else was a burgundy finish, visually they went together nicely. I just wish they would have put some binding to seperate the two finishes, that would really have been a nice touch.

Pickups are not worth mentioning in most reviews unless they are exceptional. In this case they are not. Like you, I almost always replace stock pickups anyway, which I did.
This particular guitar is way too noisy at performance volumes because the control cavities are incompletely shielded; lots of buzzing when the volume pot is on 10. This is an extremely dissapointing oversight from the Schecter folks. I don't know if all the Terry Corso's are like this or I just got the lemon.
Other than that it sounds good enough to pass muster.
Action, Fit, & Finish

Commenting on set-up is irrelevent as I always change it to suit my taste, just like most of you.
Finish was well done and durable.
The fretwork was flawed; a couple of high frets that needed careful filing, otherwise this guitar was unplayable because certain notes were completely buzzing out no matter how much neck and bridge adjusting I attemtpted.

Overall construction is very solid, but its the little things that can make or brake a guitars usefulness.

I just love the look of this guitar as it is hanging on my wall, then I pick it up to play and the love fades.
I have been playing for 25 years, and I use a 150 watt Randall EG100 head pushing a 4x12 cabinet.
If this guitar were lost or stolen I would not look back, i'd buy something different. Its just not that special to me,other than it looks great.
With a lttle more attention to detail at the factory this guitar would have gotten a higher rating from me. Then my only gripe would have been the fat lumber neck, which is just a style issue, not a worksmanship problem.

This is basically an upgrade of the 006 series. When I took this out of the case, I was amazed at the beautifully matched flamed maple top. This one really was excellently done. I was stunned because I did refinishing for years when I was young and am very fussy about details like how well something is matched. I was a little worried because another poster said his didn't have much flame at all. Mahogany body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard, tone pro bridge, an SD JB at the bridge and Duncan designed '59 at the neck. I will probably put a SD Jazz or '59 in the neck. I've had and still have other Schecters and the neck on this one is a little wider than the other but is very fast feeling.

I bought this mainly because I like the different body shape, I thought it would be an interesting guitar to have - I was not really expecting much tonewise. I usually play Les Pauls and Strats. So, I was pleasantly surprised - this thing on the bridge JB pickup, after playing with the pickup height a bit sounds wonderful. A great rock sound and leads really cut through. The low strings, overdriven have a very full, almost cello like tone. The higher stings are very smooth sounding. Its a very smooth, liquidy lead tone. I love playing this guitar. I took it to rehearsal and the band really liked it.
I'm not wild about the neck pickup though. You can tell it is a "Duncan Design" - not quite the real thing. It is also smooth, but a little too smooth, which can almost get into the muddy category. I will definitely be upgrading this pickup. I am extremely pleased with the sound of this.

The finish is excellent, I have found no flaws. As I said, the most amazing thing was the quality of the bookmatch - it really does rival a guitar costing thousands more. On some Schecters the action is set high, on some low. This was was set almost perfect. Since I prefer lower action, I lowered it a bit - it was still perfect, no buzz. This neck plays extremely fast and smooth. The neck was also very straight, I didn't have to adjust the truss rod. Intonation is fine. For this price, on a Korean guitar, it was excellent.

I find AAF an alright band, and really don't know much about Terry Corso, but he did have a great idea for a guitar. I picked this because it also had a humbucker neck, unlike the 006 Elites which have the single coil in the neck.
I have been playing for over 30 years and have had many guitars. I recently have gotten into the Schecters. I think these are the best bang for the buck going on the market today. The action, fit and finish of this is right up there with many "lawyer" guitars. I wanted to review this because I haven't seen many and just think its too good a guitar to ignore. If stolen, yes, I would get another one. Its fun to play, sounds great and (I think) looks great. You can tell it is definitely an upgrade from the 006 series.

Strat style body, set neck, Grover Tuners, Tone pros brdge, string thru body, 25.5 scale, mahogany body, maple cap, maple neck, rosewood board, Duncan JB bridge and Duncan Designed neck.
Sound

Sounds decent. I'm not a fan of the JB so mine will get something heavier, probably a Duncan Distortion bridge. I also don't understand why Schecter mixed a real Duncan with a Duncan designed neck pup. I'll be looking at a Pearly Gates for the neck.
Action, Fit, & Finish

Very very light. Action was setup low and smooth. Plays nicely. The finish itself should get an 8 but I have a complaint. The Schecter page description claims flamed maple and shows a picture of one with a bitchin flamed top. Mine really has no flame, where's the damn flame ? That was one of the reasons I bought it. I might actually return the guitar based on this alone. For this I give it a 5.

It's pretty light, and Korean made. I'm sure it's fine but I wouldn't chuck it around.

Overall it's a pretty nice guitar. I'm a pickup whore so the fact that I'm not satisfied with the pickups is no surprise to me. The only problem I have is the fact that mine doesn't have the flamed top as advertised. I may return the guitar based on that. Other than that problem it seems great and I'm disappointed I might have to return it.

I've been playing for 2 years give or take and this guitar rocks my fender out of the house...My fender is a custom model, very cool but, this schecter is a dream...I would definately buy it again...The only thing that bothers me about this entire guitar is that its so light i often forget its actually in my case =P...
The only change i would ever make on this guitar would be to change the front pickup to a Seymore duncan Invader...but it's perfect the way it is...
