Not sure what year is was made, but mine is Korean manufactured. 3 band eq and volume control on the pick up. Earlier reviewer mentioned that these are built like trucks. They are. Neck is playable...action is set up pretty well...tuners feel smooth and guitar is intoned fine. Not too precious. Campfire guitar.

This guitar does not really project that well. I guess that might make it good for rythym playing or chomping chords. Not particularly impressed with the acoustic sound, and the electric sound stinks. I hate the sound of acoustic guitars with built in pickups. I bought this guitar in case I ever got a coffee house gig. And also because the price was right.

No problems here. This thing is an effen tank! Like the feel of the tuners. Pickup works well.

Hard to tell. It's got a crack in the finish on the top. But I would not be suprised if it is here long after I am gone.

I'd love to be able to get $200 for it. Nothing really WRONG with it...it's just not a good sounding acoustic. Certainly not a Martin.

Primarily a jazz player on a Heritage semi-hollow, but wanted an a/e to play fingerstyle songs by Tommy Emmanuel. Mostly play acoustic, but like the option to plug in sometimes. The highs on this guitar are really spectacular, clear and shimmering. Has good depth in low tones which will improve as the top ages. Not as deep as rosewood, but more bright.
Very good acoustic volume; this thing resonates well in spite of being built like a truck.

This is a fairly inexpensive guitar, but the Zagers have modified it so that it plays extremely well. Fingerstyle play really shines because of the speed at which I can move around the fretboard. No buzz at all, and a very very low action. Hardly different from my electric! Very little pressure needed to get a clean note. The other benefit from the Zager modifications is the change to the sound of the guitar. I played a Sigma in a shop...this one projects and sustains so much better! That's what a great nut/saddle and setup job will do. Take a $350 guitar and make it sound better than a $500 one which isn't given the same treatment. Haven't used the electronics much yet. Glossy finish which will protect the guitar well but doesn't seem to impede the sound quality. I didn't want to spend over $500 and couldn't find a decent playing/sounding guitar locally that didn't need another $100 in set up work that would compete with this one.

Here's where the big difference is. I always deal with small companies for my music...like Heritage, Reverend. That's where the best service is. And Zager is one of the very best. They answered all my questions immediately, made sure it got here when i needed it. And it had a couple minor finish flaws, so Denny instantly made an adjustment to the price as well as offered to pick it up and replace it asap. No hassles, no haggling, no question. Given that service, I am not worried about support.

I've been playing 8 years. Have a Heritage H535, a Brawley custom, a La Patrie classical, and now the Sigma. I have a Reverend Hellhound amp and a Fender Pro Jr. amp. This guitar sounded better than anything in my local music shop for under $900 (I know, I took it down there and played them all side-by-side). It's a keeper until I win the lottery.

I've been playing an Ovation for years that had a great neck. This Martin/Sigma, after the modifications at Zager, plays as easy and sounds way better.

Superb company to deal with. Lifetime warranty and money-back guarantee if I didn't like the guitar, including paying for shipping both ways.

I've been playing guitar, bass and harp for over 20 years.
Questions were answered online ahead of time.
I would get one just like it if it were lost.
The price is very good and the quality of Martin-made guitars, even the Sigma models, is well -known.
