I purchased this guitar new in 99' for 199 bucks along with a martin hardshell case (which made the guitar feel more valuable). It is the natural color, acu-elec. model made in Korea. Since it is a cheaper version of it's big brother Martin, the hardware is on the lower end but still very workable. I am not certain, but I think the electronics are the same used in the Martin models which suprised me because it is the worst feature on the guitar. Amplified, this guitar dosen't sound very natural or even very good at all on any amp or setting where acousticaly it has a great original tone.

This is my favorite guitar for writing songs because of it's unique sound, it plays like an electric and although the sustain is abundant, it rings out with softer tones that allows me to concentrate on improving my crappy voice. I will play other peoples' acoustics (some of which cost way more)and wish i were playing my Sigma.

This guitar has fit me like a favorite pair of jeans since the day i tried it out in the store. I would give it a 10 if it weren't for the piece of garbadge factory pickup it came with.

This guitar would be an excellent compliment to an electric on stage provided you swap out the original pickup. I've tried to use it on stage and was dissapointed. Besides amplification, this Sigma will take a serious beating with little problem.

Martin Co. acts as if Sigma guitars are a bastard child, so no help there. But a lot of musicians I talk to have a Sigma at home so at least you don't have to be embarrased owning one.

This Sigma is my ol' reliable and is the one posession I would ever miss if lost. I recommend this guitar to no talent hacks who want a versitile acoustic, then spend your real money on that kickass electric and amp.

I'm not sure when this guitar was made, but I believe when I researched it it's a relatively new design. Made in Korea. It's a 20 fret with all of them clear with the cutaway body. The controls are bass, treble, middle, pres., and volume. I really don't know much about electronics because I don't gig and I record with a mic. It's a cutaway thinline design w/ no-name tuners, or at least tuners that I don't recognize. This guitar does go out of tune pretty quick which makes be believe that these aren't great tuners. The neck is medium.

I'll have to be brutally honest here. I had never played this model of guitar, and didn't play this one until after I bought it (ebay, dumb). I was looking for a cheap guitar that I could amplify because my other guitar wasn't worth amplifying. When I opened the box I thought it was a beautiful little guitar...then I played it, without an amp. Sounded like crap. It's really hollow and doesn't feel like it holds sound real well. The highs and lows are sloppy and distinguishing the bass from the treble was a chore. But on a better note, it sounds good amplified. Basically, if you're looking for a acoustic guitar just for amplification purposes, this is a nice guitar.

Action was super high when I got it, so I had a new saddle put in and that fixed it. When I got this guitar it looked brand new, like the previous owner just quit on it. The finish is super glossy and really bright. The guitar has no flaws mechanically or physically.

I strum pretty aggresively and this guitar can take it, except it came without a pickguard. Like I said above, the tuners are pretty weak. The finish stands up pretty good to lots of playing, and the only scratches that have been put on it were from the previous owner who looks like he wiped it down with paper towel. The strap buttons are excellent and super durable.

Never had a problem except w/ the action, and had that fixed by a professional luthier.

I've been playing for almost 2 years, and also own a Sigma DM2. Accessories include a Crate GX100 Amp and a Tascam MFP01 recorder. I really wish I had played this guitar before I purchased it, but I didn't drop a whole ton of money on it so I bought it blind. What I really like about it is the thinline body and size. It just feels really nice in my hands and around my neck. It's also a nice looking guitar. The price was also good. The thing I hate the most is the terrible sound unamplified. My favorite feature is the strap pegs on the body, super durable and towards-the-back placement forces the guitar outward, away from the body, not bringing it in. If you have any desire to play this guitar unamplified then I wouldn't recommend purchasing a TB-1N, but, however, if you are looking for an affodable Acoustic-Electric that you intend on using amplified mostly, then I would recommend this guitar.
