This Siganture Oracle was made in 1989 at the shop in Aurora Ontario, Canada. Collaboration with Alex Lifeson of Rush and Russ Heinl got things going in 1987. The company was out of business by the end of 1990 but during this period they put out some of the nicest guitars ever made in my opinion. Top notch quality in workmanship and harware.
This model came with 22 frets, highly contoured alder body with a fabulously flamed maple top. Neck through body construction. Dark ebony fret board with offset dot inlays on a rock maple neck. On the 21st fret is a mother of pearl inlay with "Oracle" engraved in it. Volume and tone control knobs with push/pull feature for coil splitting. Three mini toggle switches to control the Evans/Signature H/S/H pick-ups. These PU's rock and are very quiet under high gain.
The body style is a super strat design and fits nice into your body. Easy to play, very well balanced. Comes with a Schaller made Floyd Rose/Signature floating bridge (locking) system. Schaller tuners.

The sound is strong and clear. Excellent for both clean and distortion. With the available coil splitting and H/S/H configuration you can get a ton of tones out of this guitar.

Hand made to exact specifications. No expense spared on fine tuning and enhancements. Part of the reason the company went out of business. No way could they keep up with the mass market and junk that was being poured out in the late 80's. The pro's were sntaching them up and were willing to wait for the guitar while it was built and pay for the quality that was going in to it.

I have been playing for over 20 years. I have wanted a Signature for many of them. Finally got my hands on one and I would have paid double what I did to get it. It's a top notch guitar in every respect. I want another one !!!!!!

This is the prototype for the flagship of the Signature Guitar Company. Neckthroughbody construction, flamed arched maple top, H/S/H Evans pickups, gold plated hardware, Scaller Floyd, 22 small frets. This model was going to be sold for $2100 back in 1989, a time when PRS didnt even charge over $2G. This model would be the rarest, and I dont know how many actually got built, but there couldnt have been many. Today it would probobly sell for about $5,000. Its easy to see why Signature went out of business. Excellent guitars, but not many people are willing to dump loads of cash on a brandname they never heard of before.

The Evans pickups are the best sounding passive pickups ever made. Quiet at high gain levels, even the single coils.

The guitar is extremely well built, with no flaws. For its price though, they could have used a more attractive piece of wood for the back of the guitar. I've never seen a prototype built this well.

The guitar is solid, but no guitar can be used without a backup. I always wonder how Alex Lifeson could pickup this guitar and not think it would be better to use than the Aurora models he used.

Since they arent in business, its a little hard to ask for info. You could try phoning Alex Lifeson, but somehow I dont think you would get anywhere.

This is a great guitar. If there was more available them I would own more of them. Unfortunately, it may be the only prototype of this model, and there are probobly not many of the production models around given its price tag.
