Signature Pegasus...let's see...Canadian-made, made between 1987 and 1990, 22 frets, 3 passive single-coil pick-ups, don't know the wood type, has a bolt-on neck, style is a super-strat, came with a very nice Signature guitar case.

Signatures are awesome guitars, but the Pegasus really doesn't suit my musical needs. (Neither does the vaunted Aurora for that matter.) The only reason is because of the single-coil pick-ups. 99% of what I do on guitar is through a humbucker, so a guitar with only single-coil pick-ups just doesn't suit me. That being said...most other guitarists out there DO use single-coils and like them just fine. This is my problem as opposed to the guitar having a problem.

I got this guitar used, and the neck needs a tweaking. I get some buzzing at the first fret...and because of that I don't really play it. (I collect Signatures, though, so it is staying in my collection.) And since the guitar was at least 15 years old by the time I got it, the neck issue is not the fault of the factory. Aside from the neck issue, the guitar literally looks brand new. Everything is in excellent condition.

I'll give a general rating of Signatures for this category: Yes, they will withstand live playing. The hardware is very good and will last if cared for. The finishes are good...but not invincible, of course. You can definitely depend on these guitars. I would never gig without a back-up....but my back-up is another Signature! =)

Was never around to deal with the company when it was in business, but I've e-mailed back and forth with creator Russ Heinl now and then, and he is always very cool about responding and answering the questions I have.

I've been playing over 10 years. I have 7 Signature guitars and 1 BC Rich. If it were lost or stolen I would be really pissed off...and try like to hell to find another one. I've never seen a Pegasus for sale anywhere...and was lucky to come across the one I got. I love the exclusivity of Signature guitars...only about 500 were ever made.
If I remember correctly, there was one guitar I tried that kind of reminded me of a Signature...and that was a $2,200 Warrior. Some Godins have a little bit of Signature mojo...which makes sense since Godin had a hand in the company back in the day.
