Bought this from a pawn shop. The previous owner painted it blue and black. It has a date, Jan. 11 1966. It has two single pickups, a three way toggle selector switch, two volume and two tone knobs. Everything is original. The tuning keys are stiff, but you can't beat the vintage look. The scale is smaller than your typical guitar. It has 20 frets with pearl dot inlays, and the headstock is tilted. The pickups are being advertised as old DiMarzio's, but I can't verify that.

Sound : 10
I played this thing for years, it has a full sound considering that the pickups are only a quarter inch thin, I can't emphasize enough the fullness of the tone. I discovered that I could do some very simple mods to the electronics that would not compromise the originality and visual appearence. I replaced a few capacitors and added a couple resistors and this thing now has a range that I cannot beleive. It still maintains the rich full low tones but it now has a great thin telecaster jangling sound. I am currently playing through a Vox, but played it through a junky Peavy, as well as a Fender Tweed, blows me a away each time.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Incredible action, very low. It has a truss rod, but never had to adjust it. The scale is a bit small for me, but its a ton of fun to play. The original finish on these is sunburst tobacco, but I dig the new wave 80's look.

Reliability/Durability : 8
This is over forty years old. Not sure of its life before falling into my hands, but its lasted. Would not hold up for long gigged life, the pick gaurd plastic is brittle these days.

If you like a jangling thin sound to heavy warm tones, from rock to country, this is it. Over the past twenty years or so I've played numerous strats, Les Pauls, humbuckers to single pickup configurations, and of course vintage models like this, but this takes the cake. It isn't as responsive as my vintage Framus Junior de Luxe, which is a Jaguar/Mustang look alike, but the range blows me away.
