My guitar is a factory-second guitar, so it has "USED" stamped on the back of the headstock.

22 frets
Sculpted bolt-on maple neck
Rosewood fingerboard
Chrome precision die-cast tuners
Agathis body
Double cut-a-ways similar to devilhorns
Dual high-output humbucking pickups (PSX Signatures)
Mirror Pickgaurd and Truss Rod Cover
Chrome Paul Stanley designer Tailpiece (with Paul Stanley's signature engrave)
3-way selector switch
Beautiful Metallic black finish. (it appears black until light is shined on it. then it shows it's sparkly appearance)

This guitar is great. The neck sorta sticks out though, but i'm not complaining because i can nail those high frets really easily. The only thing that i don't like about this guitar is the balance. It's neck heavy because of the top strap bolt's position. It's not unplayable standing up, though, so it's not a big concern.

The guitar itself sounds amazing. As i said erlier, it's a factory second and i think i know why. Its knobs are kinda 'crooked' per say (but it isn't a problem at all becuase it's not even noticable. their not loose or anything, so its neutral). and the bolts that keep the input jack and switch in place loosten periodically.

Sound : 10
The guitar sounds great. it has that real KISS tone you'd expect from a guitar designed by the starchild. I love the way it sounds. the neck position is really warm, great for blues, and the tail position is perfect for metal. Clean or distorted, it sounds brilliant. espicially for the price. Flawless

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
K, so from the factory, everything is very nice, aside from minute flaws listed above. The pickups were set in place just right. neck is centered, no warpage or cracks. Bridge and tailpiece are perfectly adjusted.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This thing is built ford tough. aside from fingerprints, i've banged this thing around every corner. I have this, and a gibson 67' v. I pick this one up when i feel like really rockin. It holds a note, doesn't go out of tune easily at all. I could probably take on a 50 song setlist and it'd still sound perfect.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to deal with the vender i bought it from. i doubt i ever will. purchased back in august 1 week after i saw kiss at rockfest.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for a while now. like i said, i own a gibson v. I like this guitar so much better. This guitar is a beast. and for the 150 i paid, it's worth 3 times more. It could hold it's own against a les paul

Features : 7
Agathis Body
22-fret
Bolt-on maple neck, thick neck
Rosewood fingerboard
Two generic humbuckers
Mirrored pickguard (most PSSN1 don't have it, somehow mine does)
Check out the pictures and you'll see that the fingerboard "sticks out" futher than most guitars - allowing for easier access to higher frets but also meaning you have to reach a bit to play the lower frets.
A Paul Stanley signature inscribed in chrome.
Very heavy. About the same weight as my Les Paul Special.
Guitar looks awesome despite the cheap parts...

Sound : 6
...Unfortunately it looks much better than it sounds. Clean is muddy and thin. Dirty does not produce the evil growl that you need for metal, more like a lazy and warm (almost but not quite like a grunge sound) buzz. A typical beginner-guitar sound. Disappointing because this axe has the killer looks to be on stage.

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
Action from the factory is set very high. But no big deal, just grab a screwdriver and set it lower.

Reliability/Durability : 8
Looks pretty sturdy. So far no major issues but it's still a relatively young guitar. Will I gig live with it? Absolutely! Very soldem do you find axes that look evil without crossing into lameness (hello BC Rich!). I'll find an excuse to use it live, if even for just one song.

Never had to deal with Silvertone.

If you want a beginner guitar that doesn't look like one this is it. You can always upgrade the pickups and the amps right? I don't like the thick neck (tires out my hand) but the fingerboard is pretty easy to play. I'm too lazy to modify it now, but if you can make it sound good then it's definitely a keeper! I choosed the PSSN1 as opposed to the PSSN2 (Sovereign Pro) because the only difference between the two is the fingerboard (not a big deal since the PSSN2 is also thick) and the pickups (both suck). With the $200 difference you can get a pair of killer humbuckers and make the PSSN1 sounds as good as it looks.
