I'm pretty new to Harmony Central reviews, but here goes. It's a recent model, but not being made anymore due to the new Paul Stanley Washburn line. It's black with red paint on the "wings". It's got a nice sparkle in the finish which you can only see if you look hard. It's got a BC Rich-esque shape, but its more comfortable to hold than a Warlock. A tune-o-matic bridge. I like playing with whammy bars, but not that much so it doesen't bother me a bit. Not that much of an expert when it comes to things like tuners and frets, but they work fine and the neck is pretty fast. It didn't come with any accessories because I got it used, but I think it comes with a little amp, some picks and a strap when you get it new.

Sound : 8
It doesen't get nearly as many sounds as the Gibson Blueshawk I own, but then again there isn't much that does. The sound suits distortion more than clean sound, but it could do either fine. It's positive.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Most of the guitars I get end up needing a couple of days worth of setup, but this one was perfect when I got it. Although it was a christmas present and might have gotten a tuneup before it was put under the tree. The guitar was used and the horns were definetly hit in the past. They're a bit jagged now. This doesen't effect the way it holds in any way and I got lucky in that you can't see it unless you look close. This isn't really the fault of anybody other than the guy who owned it before me. Guitars with odd points have things like this happen all the time.

Reliability/Durability : 8
It would most definetly withstand live playing. The hardware is once again very well made for such a low-priced guitar. I haven't had any problems with the finish yet but I've only had it for a few months so that might change. The strap button configuration is horrible. Both of them are put behind the body. I fixed this by replacing the heads with some homemade strap-locks and I recommend you do the same. I've never had any technical problems with it and I would most definetly use it as my only live guitar.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Haven't had any experience in this area.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for a few years, I think six. I own a Gibson Blueshawk, a Peavey Raptor, a Squier Bullet and a little Hondo acoustic. This guitar beats the Raptor, the Bullet and the Hondo and is surprisingly close to the 500 dollar Blueshawk quality-wise. If it were stolen or lost I would most likely buy another one, but I might spring for the higher-end pro or better yet, the version of the pro with the signature Paul Stanley cracked mirror finish. It's a great guitar on many fronts, but you may have trouble with the strap buttons and the weakness of the points on the body. I would recommend this guitar to anyone on a budget who wants real quality.

I got this guitar about 3 years ago now and its great. I play in a band called Steel Dragon and this was our "symbol" from the first time i wiped it out on stage to now. It has a great rosewood fretboard and a neck size perfect for those jaw-dropping solo's. The controls on it are very basic, which means you can be the most experienced player in the world or a newbie to guitars and still be able to pick this up and shred. It does have flaws though, but nothings perfect.

Sound : 9
The sound gets fuzzy sometimes, but overall, its great to use on songs like hangar 18 and master of puppets.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
The guitar was set up pretty good. It could definatly be upgraded, but overall its good.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Ive dropped it so many times on stage and its still shredding like i just got it.

Customer Support : 10
Ive always loved silvertone because of their service. Their so helpful.

Overall Rating : 9
Great guitar, Great sound, Great everything. I highly recommend it to all players.

Not sure of year, but quite recent.
2 Solid block pickups, Plus a bridge support pickup. Stock brand.
3 adjustment knobs,
has a black finish on neck and fret board, with dot inlays.
has bout 22 frets (i think)
Blade style headstock.

The features are very basic on the body, but the bass looks the nuts!! you will totally look kick ass on stage.

Sound : 8
I play metal, thrash and death, and this really suits my style. although as the features are generic, the sound will suit many styles. The pickups can be very fuzzy at times, although when when you whack a bit of noise reduction on it it seems to get rid of alot of it. AS for the sound with stock strings, it has a slight twang, but not too much, else it would sound very rough and you wouldnt get the bass definition through enough. I liken the sound to david ellefsons bass from megadeth, especially when you put it through a zoom 607 with a bit of reverb, then it sounds killer!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The bass was set up absolutely perfectly, but then how easy is it not to be like that? The pickups were nicely placed, and so is the bridge, but i still raises the pickup height just slightly, just to be stubborn! This bass feels very good to play. just wathing your hands on the fret board lets you know that you look shit hot. It plays nice and smoothly, and has a suprisingly fast neck for its size.
However, i wouldnt advise this bass if you are short or a generally small person, as this axe is quite heavy and bulky. Also, its almost impossible to find a case for this bastard!! ive had to make me own.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This bass will definately last a gig, hell, it will last forever! The finish is quite good , although due to the body being pointy it can easily be knocked about and have paint chipped off. I would definately use this without backup. The strap buttons are quite solid , but i would place a washer underneath the strap, then over aswell. then it will stay on. thats my cheap and effective way without having to buy straplocks!

Customer Support : 10
Very good. i bought it in a sale at half price, lucky me!

Overall Rating : No Opinion
Playing 3 years now. this bass is great. if you find a big case then get it. if not, i would go for something like an aria, or even a fender. just stay away from ibanez, they suck!

2004 made in Indonesia. 22 Frets. Chrome Bullet Volume and Tone Control.2 Dual High Output PSX Double Coil Humbucking pickups designed by Paul Stanley and Silvertone Guitars. The guitar body is agathis wood. The neck is maple with a rosewood fretboard. On the back of the headstock it says "Paul Stanley of KISS". The finish is in black with wings in red. The body style was designed by Paul Stanley and looks like a combination of cool guitars such as the Gibson flying V,Jackson Rhoads Shark V,BC Rich Mockingbird but it still retains its own originality. The Bridge is a Tune-O-Matic. The tuners are standard Silvertone tuners. The guitar is packaged in a limited edition Paul Stanley box that has a picture of him in KISS makeup holding the guitar.

Sound : 10
I play Rock N Roll as well as blues and this guitar is sounds good.
I'm playing this guitar through a bass amp with a distortion pedal.
The guitar is not noisy and sounds good at low and high volume.
It has a thick full humbucker sound which is classic Rock N Roll.
The guitar sounds great for playing chords and for solos.
There is nothing I dislike about this guitar.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The guitar was set up great but needed to be tuned. It does not go out of tune even after hours of playing. The pickups were adjusted perfect. The finish looks professional. The bridge was perfect and the controls were set up great.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar is perfect for live Rock N Roll
The hardware is built to last. The finish is both unique and professional. The strap buttons are fitted in good locations on the neck and body of the guitar. You don't need a back up guitar. You can depend on this guitar.

Customer Support : 10
Silvertone customer support were great at helping me locate this guitar.
It has a limited lifetime warranty which is included inside the guitar case.

Overall Rating : 10
I have always been a fan of Paul Stanleys guitar playing. I played a Sovereign Special but fell in love with the Apocalypse Special. Sam Goody Record Store was trying to let these guitars go at such a low price due to being overstocked. I was at the right place at the right time. I feel so lucky that Paul Stanley worked in correlation with Silvertone guitars to design a well made guitar. I love this guitar.

The Paul Stanley Apocalypse Special is an extremely contoured guitar, it looks like a variant of the Flying V with cut outs. Mine was black with red trim. the black paint had silver flecks in it and was very nice. Two open coil black Silvertone humbuckers, with a three way switch and volume and tone control. Bolted on maple neck. Body made of Agathis wood. Tune-o-matic bridge and stop tail like Les Paul. The neck joint was nicely sculpted so that there was birtually no heel- very nice and probably a Paul Stanley design as he usually used neck-thru guitars with virtually no heel. Cheapo tuners. Chrome hardware.

Sound : 8
Guitar was built for metal playing. Agressive looks and sound, not suitable for a church music quartet. The sound quality I felt was exceptional for a bolt on guitar with no name electronics and pickups. I played it through my Marshall along with the KISS Symphony DVD, and the guitar had a certain Paul Stanley sound to it. I actually was very impressed with the sound

Action, Fit, & Finish : 3
Poor grades here. First, I had to go through seven to find one that was not damaged. They are packaged in a cardboard box with no protection, except for a piece of styrofoam over the toggle switch. The boxes had damage to them corresponding to the lower horns of the guitar, and the horns had severe chips on them. Many had broken strings. Some had no warranty card. You can not package a guitar in this fashion and expect it to survive shipping unscathed. Silvertone should improve this. The box itself has full color photo of Paul on it and is actually quite nice, was described at Media Play as a "collectors box".

Reliability/Durability : 1
guitar feels fragile and flimsy, like a toy unfortunately. The bolt on neck joint moves, so I sent it back. This is a shame because I am a KISS fan and was excited to be able to afford a KISS signature guitar, and as I said the sound is excellent.

Customer Support : 1
How long is the warranty? The advertisements say "limited lifetime warranty". The card with the guitar states "limited five year warranty". So, who knows?

Media Play refunded my money no questions asked.

Overall Rating : 1
I had some extra money and was curious about the guitar. I understand you get a 140 dollar guitar for 140 dollars. However, there are many "cheapo" guitars out there that are very solid and playable (ie Epi Specials)that with some better attention the Apocalypse can compete with. The guitar could even be upgraded with Seymour pickups and better hardware, but it seems like a toy and too fragile.

Okay the Features of this guitar are generally good so here we go! it has 22 jumbos frets with a maple (I think) fretbord it has 2 high out put humbuckers (well worth the money) a tune-o-matic bigde followed bye a stight in stop tail. it has 1 volume and 1 tone knobs both in sliver bullet style, it has a clasic 3 way swticher (gibson style not fender style) also it has an x-treme body shape all champhered and stuff with red paint on the chamfers, it has non locking tuneers but that is okay beasue the tunomatic makes up for that. the body is of very high quilty desing i expect this not to brake anytime soon. it also comes with a very reasuring life time warrenty (limited to body and neck thou)

Sound : 10
okay the sound. Now this gutar has a fat ass sound very very good if your playing metal i shall assume that is what it was made for beause of the sound but anyway it makes no feedback at all i use a metal zone stop box distoren pedal with a crapy 12 watter amp but this thing still sounds good...i have play'd it though a 50 watter marshall and i swear this gutiar sings its guts out it is an outstanding sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
okay the Action fit and finish are pretty much all good the gutiar dosent have any flaws at all apart from a couple of millimetre panit roll overs where the black juts into the red in a mill x mill section (not noticable unless ur closly checking the enitre gutar over) apart from that all the birdges and so forth are done well the only compliant i have is that the strap nut located near the neck needs to be put into the neck blot its self beasuse it makes it very neck heavey but this is only about $5 to fix no problum at all.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Okay like i said all is durable in this gutiar i will be useing it on gigs when our bands gets there next week but yes i would and will use this on live playing with no backup.

Customer Support : No Opinion
okay agian life time warrenty for the neck and body but i have never delt with the compiane

Overall Rating : 10
okay last thing, i have been playing for abvout 1 year and i have ownd 2 gutiars inculeding this one i love it and i did a lot of resurch before bying this one and for $600 it blows everything out of the water, it is was stonlen or lost i would buy another one i just love these guitars, i could have chosen a lot of gutiars in my price range but i chosse slivertone i tust the quilty and sound and it is an over all brillent guitar apart form the one or two problums ei strap buttons that really annoys me but iam having it changed.
