I play Hard Rock, Metal and some Blues. The electronics in this guitar aren't that great, but what do you expect for $99? It sounds OK for my style, but if you're a seasoned musician like I am, you'll want to upgrade the pots, wiring, capacitor and pickups. I bought this guitar to mod it. I have a lot of spare parts lying around and like working on guitars, so this was an ideal choice for me. If you're just a beginner, don't worry about the sound quality of this guitar, it's decent. Once you start developing an ear for tone, you'll probably will want to modify it yourself.
Overall, the guitar sounds decent. The bridge pickup is a little on the bassy side, so adjust your EQ accordingly. The neck pickup is fuzzy and lacks character. Luckily, I had a Gibson 57 and Duncan 59 lying around. Once I installed the new pups along with some new CTS pots, this guitar just screams. If you decide to install new pots, you will need to drill the existing holes to widen them because the stock pots are smaller.
I gave the sound category a 6, but after the upgrade I give it a 9. The Rockit has a lot of potential, it just needs some TLC.
Action, Fit, & Finish

Out of the box, the guitar was setup pretty good. The neck is straight and rock solid, however, there is some slight fret buzz on the first three frets. I've tried raising the action and adjusting the truss rod, but I had to raise the action really high before the buzzing stopped...not good. The buzzing isn't that bad and can't be heard when playing through an amp, it's just a pet peeve of mine. The only way to completely fix it is by filing and leveling the first three frets.
There were no other flaws that affected the sound quality. I will note the body is two-piece mahagony. The only gripe I have with this is that the two pieces have two totally different grain patterns. One side looks like your typical, loosely dotted grain mahagony, while the other side is more of a tight grain mahagony. It's not that bad, but definitely noticeable with a transparent finish. Which brings me to my next point. The finish is pretty good, it's nice and even. I'm not sure what kind it is, maybe a poly finish, but it looks sharp......nice and glossy.

The Rockit is surprisingly a solid guitar. It's definitely gig worthy. Like stated before, the finish is pretty good and will withstand the typical playing punishment. It should last you a lifetime.

I've been playing 20+ years and I've owned all sorts of different guitars. I bought this guitar to mod and I've been nothing but happy with it. Stock, it's just OK, but after a few modifications it really shines.
