Already told the highligts.

My music is all over the map. This guitar has such a smooth, clear tone, both clean and distorted, that I could use it on just about anything.
50 Watt Behrenger w/ effects
No noise.

This guitar has a nice thick rich tone, and despite the fact that it's nearly hollow, it sustains well. Set yo vibrato at top throttle.

I'm totally digging this one.

This is a Silvertone made in USA by Harmony. Two howling pickups, black Les Paul shaped with a cool white pickguard. Two vol, two tone, three way switch for PU's. Hollow body but no open hole. I believe this was Harmony's answer to Danelectro's hollow elec. Made in 59?? (according to stamp on the pickups). Could be one or two years younger. Has well preserved body binding on front and back. It's got a plain old wood bridge, adjustable in height. There's vol and tone on each of the two pickups (Gifmin), which souind great. Finish is not so hot, but not ugly. Paint has flaked off a little at bottom. The biggest thing is the crack on the picguard, which was done here by placing the guitar in a stand BEHIND A RECLINER! Stupid me.
Everything else looks good. Tuners keep strings tuned for days. Switches are clear. Front and bridge pickups sound pretty different. so you can dial in a variety of sounds. I love this thing.

This guitar would do well on the road, but I'd keep it nearby. It looks v-cool so I'd have it to warm up and play on the bus. Hardware is perfect after all these years. Missing top strap button. Just noticed that.

I've been playing since I got up this morning. I have somewhere between 40-50 guitars. I love to tinker with them and am currently being taught to refinish.

I feel like I got really lucky getting this guitar. Not many out there. People get them confused with the Jupiter, which is not nearly as nice.

Feature? Outside of the DeArmond PU's, I can't in good conscience say that any thig on this over-rated POS is a feature.

Sound : No Opinion
It sounds great, awesome, FANTASTIC, for about three strum, that is the precise moment that the tuning goes to SHIT. Me-thinks the pick-ups are the thing. The POS that they are attached to is the draw back.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 2
Do you want to know why players swear by these as a slide axe? It cannot be fretted. The fret material is softer than Pee Wee Hermans (left) bicep....nylon strings will erode them. Bend a note and you will lose part of your finger tip. It was a catalogue item...'nuff said.

Reliability/Durability : 1
You are shitting me, right?

Sears pancho.

One of the most over-rated POS that I have ever had the misfortune to own or play...pure junk with cool PU's, although they probably would not sound good on a DECENT guitar...BE AFRAID, BE VERY AFRAID!!!!

This is a 69 Strat styled Silvertone. It looked like an American Strat if you see it. My brother got this one when he was 9 (1972) for Christmas. Soild sunburst finish top, rosewood neck, darkened due to age. Aged white pickups and volume and tone knobs (again darkened from age. 3 way selectors regular vintage style. It came with Solid State Silvertone amp- 30 watt, but still in attic. As for guitar, age made finish a little darker as well as knobs, good condition.

Sound : 9
It suits all my music styles (rock, funk, jazz, and alternative) esp. Funk. Amps-Peavey Solid State Amp (made sound rich, but with effects badly). I connected it to a Peavey Transtube Studio and a friend's Marshall AVT (Valvestate Series), and a Fender Cyber Twin. Nice rich, bright sound. Doesn't sound trashy or anything. When I first had it it sounded trashy, but with a little cleaning up and electronic work, it sounds better than a Fender! If you are looking for the vintage rock sound, funk, even grunge, this guitar is it right here! I have Dano pedals-Bacon and Eggs, and Milkshake and a Crybaby Wah pedal, nice!!
Room temperature affects tuning a lot, so after playing I keep in case so the sound will be the same. This is my only complaint. I had a Hamer Slammer as a loaner while this one was getting repaired, but when technichan played my Silvertone in the music store, he told me it sounded better than some of the new guitars he sold.
This one plays a lot better on a tube amp than solid state.
If you crank SS amp and guitar up loud it buzzes. Tubes, real good!

The guitar is durable (Especally it sat in attic for a long time, and in closet, until recently). Pickups were excellent, and everything in place. This was a well made guitar. The only flaws the guitar has is a few scratches but that is it. The finish is excellent and neck was never warped or anything. Due to age, my pickup is aged, making the formerly silver pickup a golden bronze. But fully functional. As for the face still original white but humbuckers and knobs and 3 way selector and end of whammy bar, is a pretty aged off white. Since you can now buy a Fender closet classic, this is the original closet classic I tell people! All aged naturally! This guitar is so good looking that all my other brothers wanted to get the guitar to pawn it, and it would get about $500 to $300 for it.

Reliability/Durability : 10
The guitar is excellent for live playing, and durable too. As for hardware, if it lasted for almost 30 years I think it will last a lot longer. The finish still holds, this wasn't the cheap Sears guitar, this was a silvertone. Everything is soild, just have cheap straps :). I depended on this guitar a lot better than my Squier. Would use it on a gig...already did, yeah no backup too.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Repaired guitar electronics recently through music store, no warranty. It's almost 30 years old, duh so I think the recieits long been gone...

Overall Rating : 9
Been playing for almost a year. I own some effects and the SS amp also a Peavey Transtube Studio Pro. The guitar was given to me because parents wouldn't buy me a new one and I owned a used Squier. I love the sound on it, just hate the buzz for Solid State. No comparison, with an exception to the Les Paul Copy.

This is a COOL guitar. The serial number suggests it was made in 1963 in USA, sold from sears. I like the features, it has a short trapeze style tailpeice, an archtop style bridge with rosewood bottom, 2 weird chrome pickups, (ultra cheese, but cool). its a hollow body typa deal which makes it even better, it has white body binding, 2 volume 2 tones and one 3 way blade switch, the finish is black, its a single cutaway, (the black body, white pickguard and the overall fat shape of this guitar reminds me of a penguin!) Frets seam to be small and its 25 scale or somehting, one of the radder points of this guitar are the tuners, they are these plastic knobbed, 3 on a plate thing, although cheap, they stay in tune very well! This guitar was made a long time before i was born so its rAd!

Sound : 10
I mainly play hard rock, punk music and this guitar is PERFECT for that! I plugged it in and was amazed at how much bass and just the overall gigantic-ness of this axe! it dosent even come close to my les pauls or or SGs, on heavy distortion settings, it performed well, and since it has the 2 tone 2 volume controls, its pretty flexible. played through my old tube combo, the clean sound was amazing, full of bass and brights, after cranking that amp, the guitar distorted nicley, especially in the mid position. If you want a gigantic guitar sound, you have got to go out and find one of these! the best sounding guitar in my 6 guitar collection!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Since it was made in 1963, it had the usuall crapdified finish, but still black. the pickups were at the perfect setting for getting a heavy sound, i dont think these guitars have truss rods but the neck was in suprisingly good shape. somehting is messed up with the output though, it crackles every 5 minutes, i'll hafta fix that.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Its in pretty good shape for its age, there are no bare wood spots or anything, this guitar can take a beating! its been dropped a number of times and survived. It could do well as your main gigging guitar, or the one you bust out for the heavier songs, even though it can handle all ranges reaalllly well

Customer Support : No Opinion
i dont think i can call sears for this one!
