New in 2003, this is an excellent working mans' instrument. Very not flashy, the thing has a sound with an appeal that is evident from the first time you play it on stage. Solid cedar top, cherry body, maple neck and rosewood brodge and fretboard with medium nickel-silver frets, slightly smaller than a dreadnaught, it's got a big, clean, detailed acoustic sound. The B-Band A3, UST-equipped pick-up is fabulous, and rates as THE system for acoustic guitar amplified reproduction in my opinion. I've changed the machines to Grover 15-1 Gold Minis, and the thing is not only beautiful, but stays in tune at concert pitch during outdoor shows!
Sound

I play hillbilly country and blues, and this thing is a veritable cannon. About once a year I hang out with some bluegrass pickers, and this thing really 'out voices' the competition, mainly from Martin and Taylor, at what is usually a quarter the cost. As it ages, it conitinues to mellow while opening up, and either through a Fender Acoustasonic SFXII amp or direct to PA, this guitar sounds great.
Action, Fit, & Finish

Factory action was good and playable, but I've since had it lowered to my personal preference. The fit and finish were more than acceptable, if relatively plain, and there were no visible flaws in either fit or finish. The quality of the instruyment was evident, and it certaiunly looks, feels, and sounds like a much more pricey example of an acoustic guitar.
Reliability/Durability

The guitar is stable, and lives a working nusicians life on the road. The finish is delicate, as is common to Godin guiotars of all makes, as I understand. I gig without a backup regularly, and am more than satified with the reliability and build quality of the instrument.

Lifetime warranty to original purchaser of all S&P guitars, although I've never used it, and now own 4 S&P acoustics.

I'm a professional musician and have played all of my life. This is the very best sounding 12-string I've found at this price, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a working instrument. Great sound, extremely stable, excellent electronics and a really low cost all add up to the best deal on a hand made acoustic guitar available in North America.

Outstanding...either acoustic or direct through a PA, this guitar sounds beautiful...if there's anything there that ain't supposed to be, it's the player, not the instrument.

Very good factory set-up...low action and smooth playability right off of the showroom floor...this guitar sounds better and plays easier than guitars 4 times more expensive...the response from the B-Band A-3 pick-up is as good as anything out there...fit and finish isn't flashy, but good over-all.

The guitar lives on the road with me and has played nightly since purchased new earlier in the year...I'm replacing the factory machine heads with a set of gold 14-1 mini Grovers, but aside from that and the VERY delicate finish, the thing is mechanically bullet-proof...the instrument is played in concert tuning full time and it stays in tune...rarely breaks strings despite my agressively percussive style and exclusive use of light gauge strings...a solid working man's instrument.

Haven't dealt with Godin directly...I own a number of S&P guitars, and each has proven extremely reliable...Lifetime warranty, and haven't used it.

I've played for the majority of my adult life, and am a working musician...I'm as pleased with this instrument as I've been with any that I've owned, and would recommend it to anyone seeking great sound at a very resonable price.
