This is my review of the Squier Affinity Telecaster, I bought this guitar very cheap, only about 230 us dollars. before that I read all reviews on them on here and other places that I could possible find. and most of the reviews was good on it so I bought one. but oboy was I disapointed. I bought that georgious looking Butterscotch blond with a maple neck, this guitar is made in China, I think many kids buy these guitars as their first one, then they writes reviews on tham saying they are fabulous, that is probably cus they don't know any better. as my self I am 43 years old and I had plenty of fender copys before and also a "real" fender, and this guitar is so far away even to the copys I had in the days. when I first picked up the guitar at the postal office, went home and opend it up. btw it is really well packaged from the factory, you could have a tank run over the box and it would still be ok, finally I held it in my hands and it really feelt good. to my suprise it also played very good. the factory setup is OK but the strings are set to the maximun height at the bridge, even with that height it played very well, cus it is very low on the nut. it said in the info in the store, alder body and maple neck, that is the same woods as the real ones, and that is why I bought it, but that is not true, I would say this is false info cus I notised the bodys is glued together with another kinda wood, probably aghatis, body is 75% alder and 25% aghatis, the woods have ugly marks in it from branches, I guess they make squiers of the ugly woods that have alot of branch marks in it, the neck is same poor quality as well, infact I have a huge mark right in the middle of the fret board from a branch, I think even this is a low quality guitar that is not acceptable, the pickups is awful, they squeel and are not wax potted, and buzzing all the time, also there is no twang in this Tele, probably cus the body is not all alder and the strings dont go through the body as on real teles, and it is a pain in the *** to re-string it. the neck is not gloss, it is a satin finnish, wich actually feels better, but when you are bending it makes this hisssh sound on the fretboard, anyway the tuners are great, I still didnt have it out of tune even I bend alot on it. if you want to buy a good Tele Copy try to find a 80's Squier made in japan, or other 80's japan copys, I had one before and that is the real thing, it plays and is just as good as a fender, lets see what more can I tell you? well this guitar, even the poor woods and pickups and probably electronics feels really good to play, but sounds awful. the only thing good with it might be the tuners.the body is thinner than a real Tele. it's like a Gibson SG in thickness, wich can be ok if you like light guiitars

what is good about it? the tuners, it is nice to look at, and it feels good to play.
what is bad about it? the woods, the pickups, the bridge not through body, dont sound like a tele, the twang factor is low, bad electronics, alot of ugly branch marks.

no way! unless you dont mind a poorly sounding guitar with bad buzzy pickups. when I say the pickups ar buzzy I dont mean the singlecoil way, single coils are allways buzzy to some extent just cus they are single coils, but these ones are REALLY BUZZY! OK
