features tele style nothing more nothing less and nothing to complain about. I love the pine body throw back idea. Who knew pine would sound so good?

Sound : 8
very good, low hum at loud volume played thur a hiwatt bulldog. Clean twangy and rich. The pups are surprisingly good, I like all position but love the middle.

I got mine via mail order after buying the classic vibe jazz bass. It came with a medium high action and played very well. I still have yet to take it to my guitar tech, but soon it will need reset as I bash the hell out of it. The feel is wonderful, simple pleasures for simple needs. The finish is just fine...

Reliability/Durability : 9
I played this the other night at a show. Bash boom bang still in tune the whole set.Even the strap buttons are solid. I have no doubt that it can hold up.

no need yet

For the price you simply can not beat these Classic vibe series guitars and Basses. I have played all of them and can honestly say they are well worth the money. And I am a guitar whore so I go thur alot of guitars. I will be keeping this

In full detail above. Its a tele so no frills...full tone!!

Sound : 9
I was immediately blown away by the ound of this little guy! I played for years in R&B/Funk/Blues bands and have a full quiver of guitars in the rack and always liked the clucky sound of tele. I can ALMOST get there with my strat (fav for most musical styles) but not quite. I 100% agree with the previous reviewer that the tone control on my Squire is second to none. I rolled both the volume and tone off 25% and she handled some very nice jazz tones. Pushed them back to full and drove the Fender deluxe into some awesome blues tones. I have never been a fan of the bridge pickup tele twang...but its there if you want it!!

The pine body feels nice and heavy and produces a very reponsive feel when playing.

My office is VERY cool and allows me to have a guitar to pick on (I call it stress relief) and now this girl lives under my desk.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
No flaws..great fit and finish. I kept bending strings EVERYWHERE trying to find a buzz...nothing. I went over this thing with a fine tooth comb looking for SOMETHING that reminded me it was a Squire...nothing.

I'm telling you. If you buy a MIM over this thing you need to get your head examined.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Nothing to worry about. This gem is built like a tank. My Fenders have taken a beating over the years with live playing and I NEVER worry about them.

never needed them before

I never thought I would get a Squire. Not that I have anything against imports, but deep into my 30's, I have the means to play what I want. When I walked into the guitar store I was just needing to pickup some strings and kill some time while on my lunch break and saw this tele on the rack. I really just picked it up because it was close and proceeded to popped off a few notes. WHOA!! I checked the headstock again, comped a few chords and couldnt beleive what I was hearing and feeling. It was setup perfectly and played like a champ!! I grabbed a cord and found the closest tube Fender amp on the floor and put her thru the paces. The sales associate must have seen me smiling and came over to chat up the guitar in my hand. He gave me the story behind these new Squire's and kept telling me how great he thought these things were. Well...I definately agree. I had no intention on buying a guitar but "for the money" had to have this one.

All I can tell you is about MY experience with this ONE guitar. We all know that guitars "hit or miss" regardless of the name on the headstock. Not long ago I went the shop looking for a hollow-body to play in a jazz big-band with (wanted a fuller sound than my ES-125 semi hollow) and had every intention of walking out with a 175 of L4...and walked out with an Eastman. It outplayed every ES175 they had in the shop AND I saved $1500 (oh and it isnt made of plywood)

If you want a well made, great playing, inexpensive guitar little axe...AND YOU CAN FIND ONE (they are getting hard to find)...grab it and walk to the register.

Man , do I hate to give a review on this Tele...if you like a basic vintage telly style with a vintage telly sound excellent quality at a very affordable price..well there is a reason it's hard to find these in stores...I had to get mine mail order from across the country...I guess I'll have to let the cat out of the bag on this one....features...the telecaster is the ideal guitar...any feature it doesn't have you don't need

Sound : 10
a tele is great for any style of music...and this one has wonderful pickups and a great sound...by the way, my other guitar is a D'Angelico arch top so I know good sound..this baby has it..tele style..

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
mine may be an exception..but quality is top notch..a change to heavier strings and a setup and it was set up just the way I like it...better than most teles I've owned(remember the crappy 70's fenders and bad wood used in the late 80's)...also the pine on this one is a nice touch..a throwback to the original telecaster...vintage style lacquer/poly on the neck is a nice touch also..I also like being able to get to the truss rod...they even made the Squier logo a nice gold lettering

Reliability/Durability : 10
built to last

If you like telecaster's, I can't imagine you won't like this guitar

This tele was made in 2008 by Squier, in China. It has 21 medium neckel/silver frets. 1 peice maple neck, vintage kluson style tuners and a round string tree. It features 2 Alnico 3 pups that produce a surprisingly good tone. I first thought that this body was an ash body, but I later discovered that it is in fact pine. You would never know that it was not ash though. The grain is a dead on match for ash. The finnish is a thick poly gloss finnish, typical of a squier. The neck profile is a thin C shape. The guitar did not include and accessories :( not even a soft shell case!

WOW I was blown away by the sound of this tele!!! It features alnico 3 pups that give a pretty damn good tele sound considering it is a Squier. I pluged it in to a Marshall DSL combo at the store and was pretty impressed. I had to look twice to make sure it was infact a Squier. I play mostly blues and rock and this guitar fits the bill perfectly. The guitar has a really warm twang to it, and the tone controll has to be one of the best I have ever heared on a Squier. You can crank it all the way up and get a sharp ear percing sound, or roll it back to get a nice mellow almost women tone. Both pups were nice, but my favorite spot to play is in the middle. The guitar really comes to life when both pups are blended together. Don't expect a american RI tone but you will be surprised.

Well I have to admit I am a bit of a tinkerer, and I have set up this guitar more to my liking. When I played it in the store it had medium action and the top string had a slight bit of buzz. A quick neck adjustment later and the guitar was humming along with no buzz. I prefer lower action, but the factory setting was not uncomfortable. The guitar feels like butter and that is the exact reason I bought it. Unlike the cheaper Squiers this one uses the thick american style body which I am sure helps to give it that warmer tone. The neck was quite comfortable and straight as an arrow. The fret work is amazing. Really great craftmanship in this new series from Squier. The frets are all nice and level and flatened on the top just like I like. The actuall finnish is a thick poly gloss. The colour I have is blond with a black pickguard single ply. This guitar looks very vintage, but is not a spot on RI, and that is exactly how squier advertised it!

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
I have not had this guitar long enough to say. It apears to be pretty solid, and I would bet it will hold up.

Overall I am super impressed with this guitar. The feel of this guitar blew my mind at the store. That is the only reason why I bought it. This is the first and only Squier that I own. I have a 2000 american standered strat and a vintage 55 ( custom built by me ) and i play through a Fender Pro JR with matched JJ tubes and a boss ME-50. When I brought this guitar home and pluged into the fender I was even more impressed. I have since switched out the Squier pups and installed vintage noiseless american ones that I had lying around the house. This guitar has be come my main axe now and the only one I reach for when I feel the need for blues. I never thought I would buy a Squier, this guitar has changed my mind about some of Squiers higher end guitars.
