Lefty version made in China in 2006. Cost Australian $290 (reduced from RRP$599); 20 frets; tiger stripe veneer over laminated top; laminated back and sides - nice colour; 4 knobs, 1 3 way switch; 2 humbuckers; gold tuners, tailpiece, bridge etc - as described by others.
Has all the features claimed - great value for a sub $300 guitar - although strings were poor and wouldn't stay tuned. Put on D'Addarion Jazz Lights and it was perfect. One of the most comfortable necks I've played - thin, with medium frets (I also have Tele, Ric, J200, Hummingbird, Gypsy Jazz).
Looks fantastic - high varnish, good enough to display on your wall. Great finish - no sloppy workmanship. Intonation perfect once strings changed.

Pleasantly suprised by the acoustic sound once I put on D'Addario Jazz Lights. Lots of sustain and clear ringing tone. Will make a great travel guitar. Put it through my Marshall DGX 15 watt - great variety of sounds. I play country and it has a nice trebly, twangy sound - or I can blues/jazz it up at will. No buzzing, no undue humming. Control knobs work fine.

Action was nice and low - but strings were hopeless (9s) - couldn't get it in tune. Put on Jazz Lights (11s) and the problem was solved.
Top is beautiful and well bookmarked. Back is the same. Very impressed with finish. Frets were fine - no sharp edges. All knobs and flick switches are firm and move freely.Tuners are good. Pickups work fine and give clean sound. From what I can see, inside looks tidy. Nut and saddle are good. Binding clean and smooth. Looks fantastic.

This is a very sturdy guitar. Good heft to it. Fits me perfectly - probably the best fit of all my guitars. Varnish is thick - without detracting from sound. Tuners bridge, tailpiece look solid - although they are clearly at the cheaper end of materials. Would be fine live. Has only one strap button - so you have to decide whether to instal another or play with a string round the neck. You'd probably never need backup - but of course you always play safe and have one!

1 year warranty - Billy Hyde the dealer seem pretty good. However, they are phasing out Stagg in Australia...

Been playing since 1966. Have Ric 325v59; Ric 330; Tele 52 re-issue; Tompkins Diamontina; Tokai J200; Suzuki Hummingbird; Aria MM20 Gypsy
Yep, I'd buy another - it's great value. No dislikes so far. Love the comfortable feel - feel like I've owned it for ages. Bought it 'cos I wanted a jazz hollow to add to the collection. A very good buy.
I've always been lucky with guitars - perhaps it's the lefty thing - they make so few of them they (have to) take a bit more care?

Fair amount of variety - neck pickup rather mellow but still a definite humbuker sound. Bridge pickup a bit sharper

Setup not too bad but intonation off. I have a buzz at the 8th fret on the bass E string. nowhere else. Saddle rather nice. I like the tuners so far... a lot of gold plating gives the guitar a good look.

no weaknesses noted in the build except for the single buzz. I am conparing this ti a Jay Turser lefty jazz box which has a lot more problems with buzz, lousy pots, etc. The turser has GOTOH tuners which are ugly but good quality.

I bought this off EBAY... sort of by mistake but it's a brilliant mistake.

been playing 25y. Slowly building a collection of leftys and this one looks like a keeper. I've only had it a week so let's see.
I love the neck, sound, feel. I wish it where 22 frets tho.

I bought it new in january 2005, good deal at 400 EUR including stand, case, leather strap and cable. The guitar itself was stocked since a while, hence the price.
I guess it has a maple laminated top, but it is well finished, and pretty to look at.
It features the standard 2 humbuckers, 2 volume, 2 tone controls and the 3-way selector. Brand of PU is unknown, most probably Chinese.
The cut-away is quite deep, and gives easy access to all of the 20 frets.
All the hardware is gold plated (or simili)
The tuners are the only parts I regret, I will replace them shortly. Their quality is far below that of the rest of the guitar.

Since I started to play the blues only recently, I wanted a guitar with a fat sound. I have been playing for 30 years, this is my first hollow-body.
It sounds very well, fat and clear at wish. I haven't adjusted anything yet, still trying out strings. Currently D'Addario HalfRounds 0.12, seems close to what I want. I'll have to try flatwounds.
Due to some refurbishing in my house, I play it through a little Fender Champ (+/-1975), 6 watt (but I think that's an understatement), and it promises to blues as anything.
Really, top sound.
I might modify the tone controls, they are OK, but I just prefer a different roll-off.

It was not set up at the factory, original strings were too light (0.09) to allow any adjustments. But, as said before, I have not set it up as yet, and it feels OK.
I have not noticed any flaws, even after careful inspection. That said, it is not perfect, but then again, it does not cost a fortune either.

Apart from the tuners, which are too cheap, this baby is sturdy enough to allow gig and club use. None of my guitars have been damaged over the years, I believe one has to care for his instruments more than for his wife (she is replaceable...)
In my opinion, the varnish is as good as any other, I'll have to get used to play without a pickguard. Might fix a transparent film.
It had no top strap button, so I fixed a Dunlop Straplock.

all Stagg gear comes with a 1-year warranty. I know people who had minor problems, and they did not complain about the service.
Although made in China, the company who brands Stagg are a Belgian distribution group (EMD, European Music Distribution), and, since I live in Belgium, I don't expect problems dealing with them.

I own an Ibanez Artist Equalizer, bought new in 1980, a Terada 12 string Jumbo, new in 1979, a Simon & Patrick SP-6, new in 2001, Yamaha B-212, used in 1976, Fender Champ, used in 1980, several effects, all originals bought new in the late 70'ies. I also play keyboards, a full set-up with 4 keyboards and modules, mixing console, amp, mikes etc.
If I had to replace it, I would definitely buy it again, unless I had the money for an Ibanez, or a Gretsch...
No regrets, I love it !!
