Purchased 2004, strat type shape double cutaway in 'brown-burst' finish. Unbranded pickups are single humbucker in bridge and two single coils. Five way PU selector, vol, tone controls, tremelo unit. What more do you need!

Sound : 9
For the price I think it has a very good versitile sound. Although the PUPs are unbranded, they sound good. The HB (approx. 16K) is particuly good and gives an excellant smooth distortion, without mudiness. The single coils (approx. 9K) are very good as well, with a full tone. No problem with microphonic feedback either, standing in front of my Marshall MG100 (which is on a stand) with lots of gain, not a sqeek, I'm very impressed.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Concidering the price I cannot complain at the quality of any aspect of the guitar. People seem to expect quality components at a cheap price, well I don't, if you do it's a bonus. So bearing in mind the price, yes the tuners could probably benefit from being replaced, but that's about it. Everything else is better than I expected for the price.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I would not anticipate any problems, it's as tough as any other guitar in this price range. No worse and probably better than some.

Customer Support : No Opinion
No experience.

Overall Rating : 9
Playing 20 years, all sorts of guitars and amps. For the money you can't go wrong, a very playable and versitile sounding guitar. Would buy again.

Most likely made in 2003/2004, not sure thought because it doesn't come with any paperwork to say. It has 22 normal size frets with shark tooth inlays, pretty sure its not pearl though.. probably some cheap white plastic which brings me onto the fretboard itself, it appears to have been stained a darker brown because around the inlays u can see where theyve gone over the edge slightly. It has a 5-way selector switch, tone control, volume control and H/S/S setup. Cheap passive pickups. Unsure what wood its all made of but its a little weighty, would prefer a little bit lighter to sort of throw it around a bit whilst playing live (not that i ever would with it) Its gloss black and matching headstock colour, the paintwork is suprisingly good. It's a strat style with a pointed headstock, similar to a jackson style. No idea what bridge it is but it has a tremolo (cheap one) but its decent enough although I prefer string thru or tailpieces. The tuners let it down a bit because they go out of tune after about 3 hours of playing and if your using a tuner to tune it, its a bit fiddly because the slightly turn tunes it too far, word of advice if you have one is to get it in tune or close to then bend the string as much as u can then tune, then bend, then tune.. then its normally set fine. Its a very easy neck to play although i would prefer it if it was a bit bigger (thicker and wider) Came with amp, allen key for bridge, strap, tuner, picks, bb blaster amp (metal pack from www.playrecord.net)

Sound : 3
Ive only played it through the bb blaster amp and through a zoom 505II pedal. The distortion is crap. Theres no vary to the sound at all.. e.g the difference between a peavey 5150II and a mesa dual recto, all the distortions sound the same but just with a difference in gain. its incredibly muddy with whatever p/u setting u use and whichever amp/effect setting u use.. would highly recommend changing the pickups. although if you like clean sound and use only clean sound or strumming (indie style etc) but want a "metal" looking guitar then this could qualify for an amateur/small time gigger. Or alternatively if you want a cheap guitar to play without any amps or to learn chords and little riffs on then this is fine.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
It was set up fairly well, little bit of fret buzz but no matter how much u adjust it u cant change that.. its what can be expected from a cheap guitar. the humbucker was a bit low so i raised it slightly now its a bit better. the springs in the bridge were set up differently to how i like but i soon changed that.. to most of you this wont affect. As it was my first guitar i dont think i could really complain apart from the pickups selector knob fell off so i stuck it back on with some glue now its fine and the strings tend to cut up the nut a little bit if you use the tremolo alot. But other than that its a really nice guitar to look at, has really nice paintwork and its extremely good to play, its so easy and the neck is pretty fast.

Reliability/Durability : 6
Had it for about 6 months, nothing wrong with it, apart from as i sed above the nut etc.. but its nothing that will really affect it. No idea about live playing never used it live and never will. It has held up well and has been dropped and knocked over a few times. The finish will last most definitely.. i accidently dropped a pair of scissors on it one and it made a dent in it, didnt chip the paint at all just pushed it into the dent so im pleased about that.. the knobs are reliable apart from they do start to stick a bit as times goes on which probably can be fixed but i dont care because i just have the volume about 1/4 of the way up anymore than that it gets muddy and the tone about 3/4 the way up for the same reason, the strap buttons are brilliant, can depend on it for being a nice practice guitar at home.

Customer Support : 8
Never had to deal with anyone because i dont all the fiddling about myself, dont think it has a warranty. No idea how to contact stagg, if i did need to contact anyone it'd be playrecord who i bought it from. Only thing i can comment on is there swift delivery, they have an order before a certain time and get it next day delivery but i rang after that time and it came straight away the day after, very fast.

Overall Rating : 6
for #160 its a nice first guitar, my friend has a vintage metal axxe razer which looks so nice but he sed the stagg I300 is better to play and i agree this is also compared to a regular strat (cant remember which make) a yamaha pacifica and a squier strat. which are its main comparisons and it definitely wipes the floor with them apart from the vintage metal axxe razer which has much better pickups.

This Guitar was mosdt likely made in 2004, I'm not sure about this. At least I bought it new from some eBay Guy for 125 Euros.
It's a copy of the big Ones from Ibanez, featuring 22 Frets, SSH- Pickups (noname) and Vintage Tremolo. There is a Volume and a Tone Control for all the Pickups at once. Also we have a 5-way Switch.
The Version I have here is fully called "I300BS", meaning Brown-Burst color. This is black uotside and turn into brown with a fake Wood Texture, wich looks pretty much like made with a Sponge. Very cool I think.
The I300 cmae inside a Gigbag (of course there was a Box all around it) and with a Cable (3m) and those Tool you need to adjust the Tremolo Stuff.

Sound : 8
For this Price it's very well-sounding. You can get quite a bunch of Sounds out of it simply by Using the Switch and the Tone Control. I think it's a bit noisy with heavy Distortion, but it's not too much at all. There's only one Problem: The Sustain is a bit short, so you can't hold really long Tones, even when you try lengthening them with heavy Vibrato. The Clean Sound is very nice and can keep up with more expensive Guitars.
I play it through a noname 10-Watt-Crap-Amp wich really sucks. I think with some better one it would be really surprisingly amazing.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
I'm not really sure how well the Tremolo was set-up, to me it sounded ok but my Tuner said it was quite far away from hitting the Tone at 5th and 12th Fret. But it's not engouh to hear it anyway.
Everything else was fine. I only had to attach the Whammy Bar but that's normal. The only little Thing is that this little Peace of Plastic at the End of the 5-Way-Selector fell off at the Beginning twice. But it never did that again so who cares...

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
Well.... Yeah, I think it'll survive for quite a long Time without bigger Problems. Everything is solid and the Strap won't leave it's Place, no matter what you do... and I do alot of crazy Things :)
The only Reason I'd use a Backup is to ensure you have one when your String break during the Show. But that's all the same for every Guitar worldwide.

Customer Support : No Opinion
never dealt with them....

Overall Rating : 8
I thinks this is quite a good Guitar to start with. You won't have to change that fast as with other ones. But for professional Use it would need much longer Sustain and some "real" Tremolo System instead of a Vintage Thing.
