I bought this roundshouldered dread after much research online. This is a solid wood guitar with all the high end build quality of a Martin at about 40% of the price. Solid Indian Rosewood back and sides, Sitka Spruce solid top, white ivoroid bound ebony board and ebony bridge. Butterbean chrome tuners, bone nut and saddle. Mahogany neck. Herringbone purfling, abalone rosette, Pure acoustic. No pickup. Build quality is very high end. Satin finish on the neck, light gloss on the body.

here's the kicker...I bought this guitar sight unseen on multiple recommendations from acoustic guitar forum members. I put a deposit on it, and then needed a few months to sell another guitar to pay it off. While I was waiting for the guitar to get sold, I played everything out there. Martins, Breedlove, Taylor, Epiphone Master builts, larivee, Yakamine, Guild...all of em'. So when the box arrived I was a little nervous. Turns out, the build quality is not the best part of this guitar. Its the sound. It has the most full, balanced sound across the frequency spectrum. Incredible bass, beautiful clear ringing top end, and moderate mids. I am a bass player by trade, so I rarely play with a pick. When fingerpickd the guitar sounds sooo pleasant, but when flatpicked , the sound doubles in volume. The body chamber is soo resonant, that it really gets loud at full strum. Super sustain too. Really the best sounding acoustic guitar I've ever played, and like I said, I played dozens of acoustics over a 3 month period, and this thing really beats them all.

The build quality on these guitars is top notch. As clean as any Martin , Taylor or Larivee I've ever seen. The dealer i bought the guitar from. gypsyjazzguitars.com, leveled the frets and did the setup before shipping, so all I needed to do was string it with my Elixirs and turn the rod a quarter turn, and it was good to go. I keep the action medium-low, because I like the strings to have some room for resonance. Plus I play with a capo alot so the strings can't be set too low.

too soon to tell, but if build quality is any reflection of how long this will last, i think I've got a 50 year keeper.

The dealer zi got this from, GypsyJazzGuitars.com out of Tenessee, was great. Good comms, excellent packing, nice set up, really good deal on the guitar. I recommen them highly, and it would seem they are the sole distributor for these guitars in the US, so feel confident in working with them.

I've been a bass player for 30 years. I had no interest in guitar until recently, when I realized, that when I'm old and grey, I'll probably wanna be settin' on the porch with an acoustic guitar, not an electric bass. So, with that in mind, I looked for a guitar I would be comfortable playing, and that would sound better over time, and would last. This guitar, I feel delivers on all those fronts. Its beautiful looking without being over the top with inlay and gold hardware. Its got the exact construction I was looking for with the ebony board and rosewood body, and being made of all solid wood was important too. And its sounds just fantastic when I play it, so I know I couldn't be happier with this buy. trust me, if you can find one under $800...BUY IT. Next is a K&M Western Mini pickup, so I can play it amplified if I need to. Hope this review helped in any search you are doing for an acoustic. Everything you read about these Stanfords is true. They are incredible guitars...at any price.

The Round shouldered version of this guitar (PSRD28) is simply fantastic. I've just bought one and can't believe how good it is. I've had Martins, Gibsons, Taylor, Bourgeois, Larrivee, Brook, Takemine etc etc and this just beats them all. Set up to absolute perfection, the guitar is just bang on for bluegrass, ragtime or really anything. It has a rich bass and even with 11-49 strings has a really big wonderful sound. I knew from the first chord it was right and would urge anyone looking for a Tony Rice style sound to check this model out. I tried other Stanfords and they didn't light my fire but this one does and it's all the better as I prefer a round shouldered guitar and this one has the body size to be suitable for bluegrass.
Terrific guitar and only ??725 with hard case.

Only had it a few days. Only imperfection is a couple of very slightly high frets. Made in Asia but read the above.

Don't know but TAMCO in Brighton would honour any problems I'm sure.

I'd have preferred it in sunburst.
