The guitar was made my "Star Guitars" of Japan and was purchased new three years ago 2003 in japan.

The guitar has 24 frets - med/jumbo - a bolt on neck and the body is a solid body shaped like a strat or actually more like a Jackson solosit.

The controls are one volume and one tone and a 3-way selector - the pickup configuartion is H/H - with pasive electronics the pickups say "Grover Jackson" on each, written in the same script as written on the normal "Jackson" pickups....but they sound like Dimarzio's

The body is painted a beautiful high gloss white as it the headstock - which has the name "Grover Jackson" written on it in the same style as a "Jackson" guitar would have.... - Because of the white finish, I don't know what the wood is, but the neck is maple, w/rosewood fretboard.
The body style is strat/soloist style, and the bridge is a tremolo like the old fender/stock charvel/jacksons, the tuners are non-locking gotoh - all the hardware is "gold plated" (tremolo-bridge and tuners) The neck is extremely "fast" with 24 med/jumbo frets and stays in tune like a dream.

Sound : 10
This guitar looks great, plays great and sounds even greater ! This guitar is extremely quiet and versital in the sounds and types of music it can be used to play. I have used it for everything from country to mellow jazz to rock to heavy metal and it rocks them all. I have used it through a marshall stack and boogie mark III and a small vox valetronics in the studio and this guitar screams without hum...and always "delivers"! The only thing I would do is replace the "standard trem" with a floyd and locking nut - to allow me to get totally crazy with this sucker and still keep it in tune !

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The factory setup was a bit low, so I had it re-adjusted to my tastes. All the routing...all the electronics, parts, paint, finish, attention to detail, is nothing short of "first rate" This guitar is every bit as good as any soloist jackson makes - in fact, there are many who believe that this guitar is made by the same people that "churn" all those import Jacksons and Charvels out !

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar can withstand me playing it, and that says a lot, because I am extremely "hard" on my instruments. This guitar is built to last and delivers the sound every time!

Customer Support : 5
Because the guitar was made in Japan, I seriously doubt that I will ever find out how the "customer service" department works ! But because this guitar is so "rock solid" in its construction, I would doubt that I will have any trouble that I can't get fixed here !

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for over 30 years and have owned every type and style of guitar you can think of. After playing the latest Jackson and Charvel "high-end" guitars, I must admit that this guitar "matches or betters" all of them at a better price! Though I am sure it is a "production" guitar...it plays, looks and feels like a "custom-shop" ax! If this guitar were stolen, I would tack down the sucker and nail him ! I would definitely replace it....it is tooo cool both in looks, playability and sounds.
