DUAL "smart" ?" outputs to allow routing of bass and guitar out one output OR separately.
I would say the frets are a step down from jumbo and the necks are on the thin side. String spacing is very narrow which makes this bass very fast and the guitar a bit difficult to make chords on at times (for me anyway!). The headless tuning system is really convenient on the doubleneck and the lack of a headstock makes it easier to carry and move around.
The main feature of course, is that this is a doubleneck.

On guitar I play mostly metal and hard rock and on bass I play most anything. I mainly use this guitar for practice and songwriting so I rarely wail out on it 100%. The stock pickups on the bass are actually pretty good. I have no complaints about them. The guitar pickups are also not bad for stock pickups and are fairly versatile with the S-S-H 5 way switching. It sounds great for what I use it for but it would never be a main instrument.

The guitar came to me in the mail and was set up really well. The action was really great and everything was tight. The binding on the body was well done and still looks great 4 years later. The tremolo system actually works quite well. It's hard to pinpoint, as both guitars play well but there is that kind of "Cheapie" feel to them. I suppose they are in essence two well built $250 guitars melded together.

I could never see using this guitar live but it could easily withstand gigging. The hardware is good and as black as the day I got it as is the finish. This thing is heavy so i have straplocks with a 4" leather strap on it to hold it.
I used to have a headless Guild Burnside bass years ago and I'm definitely a fan of the steinberger system. It stays in tune great and it's pretty hard to break a string.

I have been playing for twenty years and my main basses are my custom built warmoth with bartolini pups and my "83 hand made BC Rich Mockingbird. I also have a Jackson PS-4 guitar. If this guitar were lost or stolen I would definitely buy another one. It's great for writing, practicing, sitting on the couch, or if I just can't make up my mind what instrument I want to play! I love that with a flick of a mini toggle switch I have a bass or a guitar in my hands.
For the money it can't be beat - I don't even know if there is another one manufactured in this price range. This is a fantastic tool for a bassist/songwriter.

The emg hz pups get very good crunchy tone both sides. Solid maple body helps this. I use use Zoom proccessors, Peavey bass amps with 10" bass drivers for bass, guitar and synths. Nothing to dislike.

No problem. Well setup out of box. Made minor adj for personal tastes. The locking bridgeis great feature for easy string replacement & those who prefer nontrem guitar. It is imo totally unrealistic to expect the guitar to hold same tuning in trem locked and enabled modes. Cause for best trem operation, holding tuning etc, one will in most cases not have the trem adj adjusted to the exact position its in when lock is engaged. Normally this means he trem is adjusted to flat level rather then somewhat rearward tited. Such adj also helps the thing when trem lock is engaged too. Cause thenit must be pushed slightly down on the back to let the locking mech catch. Which means it is then more solidly against the lock mech and thus less likely for the locking lever to wiggle loose. Regular doubleball end strings can be used since its the rtrem rather then the fancier one that requires the more expensive strings. Very good finish. Minor blemish near one of the bridges nothing to complain about. Capable of excellent ultra low action on both necks.

Very well made. Like most mfg the strap buttons could have been with larger tops. Replaced those with strap locks.

Double neck bass and guitar with the bass on the top. 24 frets on bass and guitar. Passive electronics. Steinberger style bridges. Gig bag.

I use this for rock, prog rock, weird looping, and symphonic style parts. I run a Roland Gr-33, Roland JV-1010, and an Akai VX-90 with the guitar side and loop bass parts through an Akai Headrush pedal. I completely rewired the guitar and added two knobs where the bass/guitar switch was so I could have the bass and guitar available at the same time. I also rewired the guitar pickups ala S-Tastic Strat wiring so I could have more tonal options.

Expect to do some work to this guitar. One bass pickup wasn't working when I got it, (wire came off in the electronics cavity), but this was no big deal since I was going to rewire the electronics anyway. I replaced the guitar pickups (EMG Select) with Lace Transensors. Bridge on the guitar side seems kind of touchy. I will be replacing the bass pickups also.

Seems pretty solid. I've only had it for a few months and except for the bass pickup wiring problem it has been fine.

I never had to deal with MusicYo for support. I pretty much bought this guitar on the premise that it would require some tweaking.

Acceptable guitar for the price. This instrument works well for my needs (as well as the price). Considering I didn't have to eat TopRamen for a year to afford this, hehehe, it is an O.K deal.

This is a Gibson USA Steiner' from Music Yo. The doubleneck feature is
why I bought it. The necks are bolt on. One is a 4 string bass and the other is a 6 string guitar. Both are headless. The 6 string has an
"R-trem" locking tremolo. All of the pots (4) are at the bottom of the
the guitar body as if it were a single necked guitar. These pots control BOTH of the instruments. The bass and guitar have seperate 1/4" jack outputs that can be switched with a toggle located between the bridges. You can't play them both at once. The pickups are Select
type that are clean sounding but not really loud.

I am using an Oberheim GM400 and Digitech Pro 21 for effects. I think that the guitar is a little on the weak side for loudness. Not quite as loud as the GU Steiners. The bass however, is VERY punchy and real responsive. I love the way it sounds. So in summary, the guitar is weak and the bass is great.

Action for the 6 string is a little high. I tried to set it with the neck but still seems a little high.
Action for the 4 string bass is great. Very fast playing bass.
Overall, the fit of the guitar is pretty good and easy to play if you have a strong back. This thing is HEAVY!
The Finish is pretty nice. I got the white body with the black binding. Really smooth and even.

Well, I believe that this Doubleneck is one of those guitars that you can take out for showiness. It functions well enough to get by with a little care.
The hardware on this guitar seems a little cheap compared to the previous Steiners I have bought from Music Yo. The tuning knob on the bottom of the "R-trem" tremolo stripped away from the shaft the first day. I repaired it easily enough but was left to wonder what would be next. The "R-trem" tremolo on the 6 string is DEFINITELY NOT the same quality as the earlier Spirit Steinbergers that Music Yo sold. It is
loose and tempermental at best in keeping the 6 string guitar tuned.
I would not use this double-axe without a backup.

If you like automated emails and do not expect appologies for your inconvenience, then Music Yo is for you.
I have had a bit of dissapointing service from them so I buy with the idea that I will live with what I get. Outside of a broken item upon delivery forget about Customer Support. I have purchased over 5K worth of stuff from these guys and have never gotten any service to write home about. I actually won't buy anything from them anymore unless it is a rare deal like this one. I collect guitars so I like the occassional cool looking stuff they get in.

I pretty much bought the Doubleneck for it's unique and cool look.
I don't think I would buy another one if it was stolen.
I wish the quality of the hardware was a little better.
The 4 string Bass actually rivals my normal basses. I record with the doublenecks' bass for the punch and ease of play. The 6 string end of the guitar is pretty lame and really just fun to look at rather than play.
