This Tele style guitar was made to order in 2001 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is fitted with 22 Dunlop 6150 frets, all immaculately polished and leveled. You will not find a better feeling fret job than on a Stevenson! The body is a single piece of light Swamp Ash and has a beautiful grain. The finish is transparent white and, at the time of purchase, had a very sweet gloss finish. (I have since gigged with it extensively and put a few dings into the finish. Nothing major. The finish is amazing!)The neck is maple with a rosewood fingerboard. It could be described as a shallow C-Shape neck. Pickups are DiMarzio Virtual Vintage single coil type pickups (neck, middle, and bridge.) The controls consist of a three way switch plus a small toggle switch to activate the middle pickup. Standard Tele volume and tone controls. Great variety of tones. The bridge is a non-vintage style tele bridge. Tuners are of the Sperzel variety and are great. Extremely stable and fast for string changes.

I tend to play a lot of different styles of music, but mostly have been playing RnB and jazz. This guitar is all I really need. If I had two, I would be even happier. (Broken Strings!) The pickup configuration of three single coils means that I have access to traditional Tele sounds plus the option of Strat type sounds. Very versatile. My rig is pretty basic, consisting of a Boogie Mark I reissue, and a small pedal board with some Boss pedals. I don't think the Boogie is really the amp to fully display how gorgeous this guitar sounds. I had a steady ship gig for while where a Twin Reverb reissue was provided, and that combo kicked ass! Crytal clear highs on the bridge pickup, great breathy rhythm tones at the neck, great Hendrix style rhythm sounds with the middle pickup on. Lead tones are great through a Blues Driver and the Twin. Not so good through the Boogie. But that's the amp, not the guitar...(I have since ordered a Stevenson Custom 50 watt head and Cabinet. Go figure...)

I picked it up at the factory, and it was perfect.

I have used this guitar as my sole gigging axe for about a year and a half now. It has consistently exceeded my expectations and never let me down. Most versatile guitar I have ever played. I have always used it without a backup, though I may order another just for that purpose. The few times I have had to change a string mid tune has been very fast, due to the Sperzel tuners. As far as the finish is concerned, I have had to play some pretty tight spaces, and as a result have dinged it quite a few times. After I have finished cursing and take a look, I am always surprised to see that the finish is relatively unscathed. Rock Solid!

My guitar has never really had any problems, so I can't speak from experience in that sense. I have brought it by for set-ups that are required from time to time, and Ted Stevenson is always ready to set it up perfectly. I think he is always glad to see his "children" come home once and a while. I believe Ted has a limited lifetime warranty, though, as I said, it's never really come up.

I love this guitar. I would buy another in a heartbeat, though I would rather not have it come to that. (ie. theft, etc.) I chose this guitar for one simple reason, (well, several actually..) but what it comes down to is that factory guitars suck and I would rather have a custom made guitar. Simple as that.
