I visited Fat Dogs wesite and was intrigued by his recycle and reuse principles. I have several vintage guitars and love the sound and vibe of them, but hate the steep EBAY fever priceing that has overtaken anything remotely desirable. The Dano Jizzblaster(hate the name)draws from Fat Dogs vast collection of vintage parts along with new parts to create a modern vintage player that is long on playability. The Neck is NOS Danelectric 25 scale 1964. Mine has a Brazilian Rose wood head and thick Matching rosewood fretboard. The pickups are vintage Dano Lipsticks. The wireing is modern and clean with more options than just the stock Dano series wiring, but also comes with push pull Phase in and out for each pickup. The body is made by Fat Dog from Alder in a Jazz Master or Dano Coral Body style. The bridge is a fully adjustable Fixed Strat style. Mine came with a very cool Brass neck bridge;although I think most come with a one made of bone. Mine sings like a 6 string Rikki with little or no string buzz. Tuning Machines are useually Kluson or Gotah and stay in tune even after hard use. They make a very cool custom pickguard that resembles the original Dano one but is made of 3/8" Milk glass Plexy with a san beval along the edge.

The guitar suits my playing. Power Chords, Punk, general rock. It also suits a Blues or R & B style real well. The vintage Lipsticks are real warm on the series setting and a little colder out of phase. The sound is vintage. I use mainly 10 watt amps: Epi Valve Junior, VOX Brian May, Orange Crush, Hi Watt BullDog 30R. Stuff like that. It out rocks my 1957 Les Paul Junior at $10,000. less money

The guitar was set up very well right out of the box I just lowered the Pickups slightly to eliminate pull down. The action was set evenly and about as low as it could go. Fast and easy to play. I also counter sunk some screw holes in the pickguard to lay the screws flush. I also counter sunk the neck bolts which were proud set on top of the body. The neck is bolted on without a neck bolt plate. I just improved the feel but mainly the look was cleaned up. The finish on my guitar is Hammertone Gold and is and was never promised to be "Prick Red Corvette" as Fat Dog calls Shiny Guitars. This Guitar is a Player...A whore that plays like a $1000. vintage guitar. It is a lot of guitar for $400.

This guitar could withstand a Johnny Thunders onstage Guitar duel...Just short of a Pete Townshend finale. The Stap buttons are the best I have ever seen. Nice and Big like my 1965 Mustang has. I don't play gigs...But if I did this would be up to the task. Very dependable

Fat Dog says "play it for a week and if you don't like it return it for a full cash refund less shipping or straight exchange". That may be the warranty. I haven't had to send it back and I'm keeping it. Fat Dog has an opinion about a lot of things and he may tell you about them or not. He knows his stuff and is a funny and interesting man who is occaisionally abrupt but he makes a killer guitar.

The best for the price. To have a vintage sounding Franken Guitar that plays like a dream and not a nitemare. Everyone get one.
