I don't know the exact year this guitar was made, because I bought it used from ebay. This is a US made guitar.
The neck has 22 frets. It is a carved top beauty with 5A flame maple top, top binding and an F Hole.
It has one 5-way, one volume and one push pull tone knob for splitting the humbuckers into single coils. It has only two passive Suhr Humbuckers one DSV on the neck and one DSH on the bridge. Their tone is PAF like.
The neck is made of mahogany /w a brazilian rosewood fingerboard and the body is flame maple on mahogany. Its finish is aged cherry burst with brown red back and the neck is matched with the back of the body, both glossy.
The bridge is a steel block fishman trem. The tuners are sperzel. All of the hardware is chrome.
The style of the body is soloist with a contoured heel neck joint. The neck has heavy frets and it has a strat scale. The guitar also came in a hardshell case.

I play mostly classic hard rock and heavy metal ranging from Quiet Riot, Judas Priest, Van Halen and AC/DC! This guitar is not rude and can do the AC/DC or more classic stuff fantastically, but hey there are no boundaries you can play whatever you want. It is not punchy and bright as an ash Strat or mellow as a Les Paul. It is sweet and fat sounding, superb for clean tones, crunching rhythms and sustaining solos. Surely it does not suit to play Painkiller with this guitar, but you can play Looks That Kill and Come on Feel The Noize perfectly! It would be a great guitar for a jazz player because it is midrangey and the string to string note articulation is perfect. But I'm not a jazz player and I tried to find application in my style and I've found it. I run this guitar through a Diezel VH4 and you can play even at the forth channel without a hiss or feedback from the instrument even it is a chambered instrument.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
As I told you I bought this guitar used so I don't know how it was set at the factory. I've tried several setups with different string gauges and tunings (9s an 10s and when I installed 10s I tuned it 1/2 step down). The fretwork is fantastic and even you set the strings very low it does not buzz with the frets. Now the guitar is set with medium action and 9s. The Quality of the Woods and the workmanship are unmatched!!! period

Have not played with it live yet but i don't think i will have any problem!

I've emailed John Suhr asking some questions and he responded immediately! A true gentleman.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for 15 years and currently I own a Diezel VH4 with a Diezel cab loaded with Celestion V30s. My favourite feature of the guitar is that it is archtop and i can create tones tha I have never experienced with any other instrument that i' ve owned in the past and present. It stands on the crossroad between my franken strat (a warmoth custom) and my Les Paul, but with its own character and definition. To tell the truth I chose the guitar because I've fouund it at a very good price at ebay and I always wanted to own a Suhr because of Reb Beach (GOD). Surely it is not like a Reb Beach model in terms of sound (RB model is more modern sounding) , but I understood well why John Suhr is one of the most renowned masterbuilders!
