I have many guitars, including many PRS Custom 24, McCarty (first signed limited 100 in 1994 or 95?), 2 Callaham strats, 2 Suhrs and few vintage Fenders. Normally I don't like Floyd Rose type guitars because they sound thin, though I do have an old JEM777 which I don't use anymore.
The best Fender type strats I have are my 2 Callahams, but I was looking for a good humbucker strat with 22 or 24 frets. This guitar is amazing. It's sound is ballsy but still has a very good clarity and focus. The low end is also very solid and tight. It sounds BIG! I works so well on high and low gain. The clean sounds fine (much better than I thought), but certainly not as good as a real strat with single-coil. Of course that's expected.BTW, it also sounds very loud without plugin into an amp. I like that!
Action, Fit, & Finish

This neck's finish is so good, not sticky at all. I was a bit worry the neck would be too thin for me, but it works just fine. Though the neck is a bit too flat for my taste, it is necessary for Floyd Rose design. The setup is great... nothing needs to be adjusted. The action is low but not too low. Very easy to play!
If it's possible, I would hope the neck could be just like the Pro series' spec and add a single-coil between the 2 pickups, just like Ibanez. I also don't like the color..... but this is not that important. However I should just give it a 9. It could be 10 too, but I am not easy to be satisfied.

It's a great sounding guitar, easy to play. It's also a good investment (only 100 made), a nice collectable instrument. If you can find one new or used, just buy it! No need to wait!!

Suhr Modern, 10th Anniversary edition, made in the U.S., solid body, volume, tone and 5-way selector, H/H, Suhr Aldrich zebra passive humbuckers, mahogany neck with African rosewood fingerboard, mahogany body with quilted maple on top, Gotoh Floyd Rose-style locking trem with locking nut, Sperzel locking tuners, the slimest neck Suhr have ever made, hardshell case included.
A perfect combination. Couldn't wish any better.. well.. maybe except for the Floyd tremolo. I just don't like it. Anyway, surely a 10.

Used to be a professional musician 20 years ago, now just an amateur player, love Dream Theater-like stuff. Along with the Suhr, I have a PRS Single Cut, a Carvin 727C and a US Strat, played through a Mesa Stiletto 50W combo and a Keeley 4-knob compressor and T-Rex chorus and delay.
The guitar has no noise. Literally. Even on high-gain settings it is extremely quiet. The quietest guitar I have ever listened to, to be exact. Compared to the Suhr, the Strat produces a whole bunch of ugly noise making it impossible to play.
The sound is the best. Again, literally. Probably, that's because of the Aldrich pickups. Rich and full, with tons of tight lows, low mids and crystal clear highs, yet with more than enough clarity and articulation on every note. If you play the guitar close to you stomach you can feel your guts shaking, deven unplugged. The combination of woods and pickups is perfect. John has done a great job indeed.
Compared to my other stuff, it is the most versatile instrument on the track. The PRS is more jazz-ish, mellow and sweet, the Carvin is more metal-oriented, the Strat is just a piece of crap, pardon my French. With the Suhr, I can play whatever I want, from blues to rock to metal to extreme metal. On clean settings it has a crystal clear to soft brown sound, depending on the choice of pickup configuration. On high-gain settings it copes easily with everything from Gary Moore to Dimebag-style tunes.
Without a doubt, a 10.

At the date of purchase, the guitar was not properly set up (which is kinda weird for a guitar of the $4+K price range but I blame the NY local dealer for that) and it took me quite a while to properly adjust the tremolo and the pickups. Other than that, it's flawless. No flaws at all. The action is very low, the neck needs no adjustment, the electronics are noseless and quiet, no scaps or strarches, nothing like that. And oh.. last but not least, the quilted maple body top is the best. Period.

A big 10. A very expensive piece of craftsmanship but worth every penny spent. A natural collectors' choice.
