Hollw plastic body...should we call it reso-glass, fiberglass, whatever, it's made of plastic. Feels like when you're in a restorant and they are giving french name to the food, so it sounds cool, as "pure?? de pomme de terre" but you're still eating bubble and squeak!
Anyway. The look is gorgeous, still after so many years. It has the same Coronado/Dual Tone kind of design but with one bridge pickup only, an oversize singol coil that looks exactly as an humbucker. It has a wood floating bridge, adjustable.
The neck has 20 frets, it is fitted in the sandwich body and it's only held by two screws, under these, there's a third screw that works as a truss rod but isn't quite the same. It got kluson tuners which holds intonation pretty well.
One output and two knobs, volume and tone.
The guitar has a super 60's style, no one can repeat it!

Sound : 10
The sound is unique and hard to explain. The tone is mellow, not so rich and articulated as a wood solidbody guitar, but very consistent, it goes from acoustic to electric and anything in between.
The body has so much resonance and gives you long sustain. More you play loud, more the sound comes through the body again, creating a very fat squeaky tone. The pickup is really weak, so you'll need a booster to achieve the tone that lies within.
This giutar is perfect suited for blues and classic rock, but you can easly go for more hard rock or punk music if you want to.
I use it for classic rock, cause she just begs for it.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
Hard to play. Hard to set up.
The neck is still straight, and the action is low enough to get some fast solo. There's a little buzzing but I can't complain. You can play it so hard, it holds the tuning anyway.
It's a 60's guitar, so just forget about ultra low action and super fast playing, she needs your soul, not your hands.

Reliability/Durability : 10
40 years old but she still looks and feels the same.
Get down on your knees for these cheapo guitars!

Anybody home home ome ome me me me e e e.........what is this echo?

Overall Rating : 10
Not for everyone, you really need to love the style and tone or you won't play it. It's pretty unique and of course there might be someone that won't like it, at all!
There're many guitars much more easy to play, with faster action, stronger pickups, easy to set up, and whatever....I just love it.
