bought in 1968 for my mum by my dad in singapore. a stop off by the tanker ship he was on.
Acoustic, octave at the body, small neck, steel strung, not sure on wood but has a beautiful deep walnut? back and a lighter slightly flamed wood on soundboard, smaller than average size.

This is the nicest, smallest, loudest acoustic I have ever heard. I have played many hundreds of highest quality guitars. I grew up playing this so i may well be biased but i also grew up playing my aunts 1947 Gibson L2 as well(which has the bass but not the highs). The suzuki is so understated in looks and then the sound warms the whole room. slightly lacking low bass as expected from a diminutive body but making up for it with the mellowest clear singing tone from the whole rest of the scale. If you have an old suzuki violin co. guitar i would advise you to reappraise it against the more expensive acoustics as mine is priceless.

Excellent build quality in every respect. few minor dings as it has been used consistently since 1968. slight buzz but just used lighter strings and it souded better than ever.

About twelve years ago (i was young) i left it in the sun by mistake and came back from school to find the strings had ripped the bridge from the soundboard. i was distraught. my aunt asked a friend, a luthier Martin Cole who builds "Cole" guitars in Scotland to have a look at it. he replaced the bridge perfectly put on new strings and gave me a case. He also told me not to leave guitars in the sun. A lesson learnt the hard way. I remember him asking if i ever wanted to sell it call him first. I asked if it was worth much and he said I should never accept less than #500 ($us700) I will never part with this wonderful guitar.
thank you
