I bought this guitar in 1973 (or something) in France for 1000FF (150?) with hard box...It was my first folk guitar (after classic). I loved the look, the deepness of wood of the back, the purity of white wood of the top, and the price was the maximum I was able to pay for...
I thought it was jus a good choice... but later I compared to Epiphone, at higher price, probably more immediately attractive for look and apparent finition, as my suzuki W 180 seems simple, without large pearly piece on the neck or on the top... The Epiphone in hands appears heavy, not easy to play and in fact routh.
every thing you need is present on guitar. adjustable neck, good tuners. the neck is thin and precise...

Sound : 10
plain, bright, open, fine. good harmonics, good level everywhere on neck.

surprising compared to a supposed good Epiphone I tested that sounds in comparison "a sound of box" (to my oppinion !).
excellent for rythmic, picking, may be could be a bit more powerfull for solos.
I tested recently other guitars to change my old suzuki, I gived up, no satisfied with guitars at more than 1000 USD...

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
perfect, simple and efficient. no defaults at all (made in japan...)
no freeze (I dont support that!) perfect level of string / easy and fast to play

Reliability/Durability : 10
well... 30 years played every where, outside, under the sun, the rain, the fog..., played by my sons and friends and still perfect (aspect, sound, adjustment ) !!!

Customer Support : No Opinion
never need in 30 years any service ...

I wonder why those guitars are stil unknown and chip ! wat can I say more that this is not a Martin, but I prefers my old Suzuki.

I've no idea what year this was made, but a rough - and non professional guess from the yellowed colouration of spruce and purfling suggests maybe 70s. Guitar is all solid construction with spruce top and what appears to be brazillian rosewood back, sides and neck (though at the price I find this difficult to believe - so may be some kind of similar Japanese hardwood). Guitar is a standard dreadnought, has black tuners and the truss is accessed from the head. Guitar came with the original hard case

Sound : 10
The sound of this guitar is stunning. It's extremely warm but still has a brightness to it. The balance is very good also, though slightly leaning towards the bottom - middle range. This makes it perfect for general rhythm stuff but not ideal for venturing too far up the higher notes. The sustain on the guitar is the most notable thing and even outlasts my Martin.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
I haven't had the guitar set-up, but the action is pretty much to my liking. No fret buzz whatsoever. The back and front are well bookmatched and the general build quality of the guitar is exceptional for the price I paid. Only criticism is that the guitar seems to have been victim of at least one careless owner and has an above average number of dings and scratches.

Reliability/Durability : 8
I'm purely a bedroom guitarist, so don't take this anywhere. Although the guitar has quite a bit of surface damage, the sound is unaffected and all bits and pieces seem extremely secure

I'm really astonished by the quality of this guitar considering the price I paid. I've been playing on and off for around 15 years and mainly play acoustic. I Also own a Martin D-45 and a Martin Sigma. I'll probably get slated for this, but I do actually find the Suzuki more enjoyable to play than the D-45...just seems to have a bit more character. I'd certainly look for this guitar again if it got lost or stolen - if I came across a better quality one now, I'd probably buy that also!
