Sound

These are typical low end Asian OEM pup's and they sound as such - lower output and not real clean. If you or your child is looking to play heavy metal this is probably not a good choice.
Action, Fit, & Finish

I own two of these. One came playable enough from the factory and the other needed to have the nut shimmed up and neck adjusted in its pocket - but I've seen that on USA strats. Obviously, action and intonation need to be set - like on any guitar. All the electronics worked but replaced the selecter switch on one. The tuners are typical and work no more or less than expected for this range guitar. Just a bit of a twist in one of the necks but not enough to really bother playability.
Reliability/Durability

This is a student or beginner or practice guitar and for that purpose it is an extremely excellent guitar. It is fairly well made for the price. The finish is fine. I've had them for 3 years and minor fixes they are fine. As I said, I had to shim up a nut and realign the neck on one and put a bigger screw in a strap button on one.

Overall Rating

I have been playing for about 4 years and I am an amateur and will never be anything else. This was my first electric guitar and I lucked out in selecting this guitar. I liked it so much I bought another one. It is a wonderful guitar for a beginner. It is incredibly comfortable to hold and play: light weight, compact size, well balanced, and just the most perfect neck I have ever since beheld. Since getting this guitar I have owned around two dozen others and have tried many guitars in stores. I presently own 10. Even though I have become I better player and much more knowledgeable I will always keep these two guitars because they are so comfortable to play and practice with. Every time I pick one up I am reminded how pleased I am to have them and how great these are for a beginner. The first one I bought new and paid $159 for a beginner pack with amp and other accessories. A good idea for a beginner. The second one I bought used on ebay for $60 - but it needed some work. You can't buy these new anymore. But if you want a starter guitar or a really comfortable practice guitar, you can occasionally but rarely find one on ebay. The rating for this category of overall satisfaction is 10.
