Not sure what year it was manufactured or where, has 22 frets, solid body, 5 way switch selector for S/S/H Wilkinson pickups and a Roland MIDI pickup with a 3 way toggle switch for MIDI, MIDI & Guitar and Guitar Only with the typical tone control for guitar.
The finish is a heavy black (plastic ?) and this model came with a Wilkinson Tremelo with through the back string mounting. The bridge is adjustable. It came with Grover tuners and the neck is perfect for my hands as I prefer a slim "strat style neck. The only other guitar I had that feeling for was a Hammer LP style guitar.

I play rock, blues and some country and I'd take this guitar to all my gigs in the future. I use a VOX AD50VTX and also use a Peavey Expression 50 watt amp with a 10 in speaker for smaller parties.
It will produce some noise in certain pickup configurations but the noise is slight and could be controlled by playing away from the source of the noise or changing pickup selections.
The MIDI pickup by Roland is quite good and the fact that it is included in the pickup arrangement is the main reason I bought the guitar in the first place. I can't sing the praises loud enough. For what the list is, it is quite well worth the price but they can be had for much less than that.

As I did not buy the guitar new, I can't make any qualified comments about that, but I was sold the minute I saw it and when I strummed the first chord I couldn't get my money out fast enough.
One look at this guitar told me it was in the same quality realm as much higher priced guitars. I've been playing, buying, collecting, selling guitars for approximately 40 years and I can tell you that the guitar I was looking at had all the earmarks of fine quality craftsmanship and attention to detail. I am still amazed at its' appearance. My girlfriend says it's a sexy looking guitar and I guess I'd have to agree with her.

In my opinion, I would not have any problem gigging live with this guitar and this guitar only. No apparent need to bring a backup guitar. It just has a solid feeling when I play it. The hardware is second to none and is very well built. Meant to last a lifetime of constant gigging. I am so happy with this recent discovery that I can now let loose of at least 8 other guitars that are workhorses. I know in my gut that this guitar will stand up to years of regular playing.

Like I said, I've been playing guitar for around 49 years. I have a Japanese Strat, several Epiphones, a 1935 Gibson L-7, a Gagnon DeVant Imperial Archtop (the first of that model made by Bill) so I know quality when I see it. I also play a Alvarez Yairi acoustic, a Taylor 714 CE, a 1965 Fender Wildwood I, a 2006 D'Angelico NYL-2, a Phiga Casta electric, a Alan Holdsworth custom electric made at the Carvin factory, a Line 6 Variax 300, and a smattering of other noteworthy guitars.
I love the fact that they put the two push buttons on the face of the guitar to help select the MIDI instrument while "on the fly" and the guitar just fits me. I think they came up with a winning combination when they designed and built this guitar.
If this guitar was lost or stolen I would be finding another right away. They just don't make them this nice for the price I paid. Even if I had to pay more, I would not hesitate to pony up the cash. It's my new favorite electric guitar.

Because I'm an old guy (58 yrs.) with all of the typical aches & pains associated with age, ease is the key, and this guitar is a dream. I feels so much like my 68 strat only lighter. I jam & record for hours at a time without fatigue.
Currently I use 3 amps with this guitar:
* 1 Fender Keyboard 200 SFX for the MIDI
* 1 Fender Twin Reverb (RI) for the guitar dry
* 1 Fender Roc-Pro 1000 Head from the sub out of the
keyboard amp to the twin 15" sub woffer.
The boards I use are :
* 1 Rolland VG-8EX connected by a US-20 to
* 1 Roland GR-33
* 1 Fender Blender (vintage 1969) &
*1 BOSS ME30.
The pickup noise is minimal. The musicly it sings, screams and anything else I want it to do when I want to do it.

The Action was a little high when it arrived but a quick call to the customer service people assured me a few cranks clockwise would solve the problem and it did. Incidently this was a scratch & dent item and while I am the first owner this baby had been sittin around the plant for some time. The pickups were very good and the Plastic body pristeen. The only real flaw that I could find was a little crack in the lower ear next to the screw ofnthe GK-2 pickup, the obvious result of a hair too much tightening down in production. this dosen't affect the playability or sound at all.

While I've only had this guitar for about a month, it's solid. The hardware is ballsy and the finish seems plenty tough All I can say is if this vibracell construction technique is the future of guitars the next generation of rockers will have great weapons. This is now my main squeeze and I will ply her relentlessly.

I've been playing now for over40 years. I have 9 other guitars both accoustics and solid bodies and a mandolin I play whenever. If anything ever happened to this guitar I'd certainly buy another but I know that the purple metalic would have to be custom because they don't make it anymore. It's got everthing that I need.
I love how she feels, light to hold, a breeze to play and it feels so much like my vintage strat its eerie.
