22 frets made from vibracell styrafoam stuff 2 volume 1 tone,3way switch.cut like a les paul on steroids has the usual switch 3d carved top which i really like.this is the standard so it has switch humbuckers and the rosewood fretboard.I have a bunch of other switch guitars, but never had an oscar before. The finish is Bright yellow with dayglo orange burst trim on the front of the body and headstock the neck and back are solid dayglo orange.not my first choice of colors.but for 125 bucks who cares.it has a new age looking tunamatic bridge and grover tuners.if it had coil taps i would give it a 10 but it doesn't,and the pups have only 2 wires

this is a ballsy guitar.it looks raw and it can sound raw. It's as good as many les pauls.it can growl or cry or be sweet as pie.I'm running it through a vox ad100vt head into a behringer 412 cab and it sounds great.no complaints here

the action was ok but not low enough for me,i set it to where i wanted it and then spent an hour getting rid of a couple of buzzes.other than that no worries

This guitar is set up very much like a Les Paul. It fits in my Epiphone Les Paul like a glove. It comes with Grover tuner which I like very much. The guitar is nicely equiped with two volume and tone controls and a three way switch for the pickups. It has a metric Tune-o-matic style bridge copy which is of a pretty good quality. The neck is slim and fast to play.

The pickups are really nice in that they can cover a wide range of sound. Played clean they are bright and full sounding and maybe a little twangy. Played through a driven amp they don't get muddy like a lot of humbucker do. In really high gain situations they do squeal a little earlier than most pickup.

I bought this guitar as a factory demo and was very disapointed with its setup when I received it. I don't know if some yahoo had screwed with it but it was all screwed up. After I did a setup on it the guitar is just fantastic to play. Very fast neck and low action. Over all the guitar is put together very very well. I don't believe there is a true exterior finish as it is made of some high tech plastic but is stunningly beautiful. Mine is a high gloss black with gold hardware. I have a Gibson SG Faded Special that isn't half the guitar that the Oscar is at roughly twice the price.

I've had this guitar for roughly 6 months and properly treated I think it should last for a very long time. I think it will stand up to more abuse than most guitars of its style. I think they only things that would kill it would be super excessively high heat or abuse.

I've had some contact with the company and I'd say they would be about par

I've been playing off an on since I was 14 and I'm 53. I've had alot of diffrent guitars in my hands and am very impressed with this one. If you like the Gibson scale but can't handle the price this is a good choice. I had a 70s Gibson SG. I have a Gibson SG Faded Special and an Epiphone Les Paul Custom and I like this guitar better. It just "PLAYS RIGHT". While the guitar is the same shape as the Les Paul it feels smaller and liter. If you can get past the wood = good guitar and plastic = junk thing you'll be ok. The bang for the buck is huge here as far as playability and tone is concerned.

Pretty much standard, nothing exceptional in the features department ? but I like that ? simple is best. Nice sized frets. One piece design. I've already opened it up to inspect the electronics. Decent wiring harness with clean soldering. I think SWITCH is pioneering something interesting here with the Vibracell technology. I'd like for the guitar to be just a bit heavier... but that's because I'm used to 11 lb. Les Pauls.
I would give it a 10, but I believe Switch has to pay some dues first.

Two Switch-brand humbuckers. I can honestly say that I like the pickups. I'm a hard-core Duncan fan...not that Duncan Design crap...real Duncans' like the Lynch, JBs and 59s. No hum or typical microphonic issues. I'm abusing this guitar through a Hughes & Kettner Tri-Amp w/VHT Fatt Bottom Sub. I'm pretty much pedal-free with the exception of a delay and volume pedal, therefore I'm hearing this guitar with no processed distortion. It's pretty frikkin' good. Nice clean tones (almost too pretty). I drop tuned it to C#, A and D and it holds up well. No loss of tone at all across all channels of the amp. I'm probably going to drop in a Duncan JB at the bridge anyway. Shhh!

Perfect out of the box! Which is extremely rare. The only thing I had to do was to raise the pickups closer to the strings. I have no clue what kind of strings were on this when shipped and I don't really care. I always put on D'addarios or Gibson Bright Wires. I strung a set of 10s with an 11 low E. No problems at all. The hardware... A+. No sharp edged frets either.

Very good...so far. I'm tough on guitars when playing live. It's survived 15+ shows so far with no problems. I've changed the strings three times already. I guess it's reliable and durable.

Right to the point! ---> Tons of quality and sound for the price.
I can't compare Switch to any other manufacturers because of their new technology. Modulus made some killer (six string) guitars a few years ago... I believe Switch has positioned themselves to do the same. I do hope Switch can convince the "quilted-maple-translucent-overpriced-PRS mid-life crisis" guitar players to try something new.
