Old Man's review covers most of this. My guitar is white/gold hardware and it looks great. A few additions to Old man's review: scale length: 25 1/2"; Neck width @ nut: 1 11/16"; 22 Frets. Switch says that each pickup has a coil tap. Old Man calls them 'phase switches'. I don't knwo which they are, but they DO provide access to a wide array of tones/timbres.

If this guitar had a piezo bridge, and Feiten tuning system. I'd give it a 10. Aside from that, the guitar is amazing.

The gutiar seems versatile to me. You can go from tele-twang to (with a touch of overdrive) a gibson-like bassy-throaty-jazz/blues richa and full tone. I've only used it on a 30w Alesis combo amp, but imagine that it'd sound great through any amp. I play blues, jazz, rock, noise, and folk. The guitar is suitable for all of these styles, unless I really want a hardcore jazzbox archtop sound. Incredible sustain and responsiveness.

The guitar arrived well set-up but action too low for my taste. I put on 52-10s and raised the action myself. No problem at all. It was easy to intonate, although someday I may ask a pro to do it with a strobotuner to be as close to perfect as possible. The only flaw in my guitar appears to be a tiny fingerprint in the very top of the neck. This imperfection is purely cosmetic -- it doesn't affect the playability or sound of the instrument, and you can't feel it. Indeed, I didn't notice it until I'd had the guitar for 3 weeks. Otherwise, the guitar is an excellent piece of craftsmanship.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I suspect this guitar would withstand anything short of being dropped out of a 5th-story window (4 stories would be ok). The composite is rigid, but not so much so that neck bends are impossible. I took the instrument from the USA to Vietnam in cargo without incident, and it seems quite happy in the heat/humidity of Hoc Chi Minh City, and doesn't even go out of tune when moving from unairconditioned to airconditioned spaces. Try THAT with a wood guitar!

Been playing for 30+ years. I've owned a range of high- and low-end guitars, and have had access to many more (my brother is a professional musician). I bought this simply because I wanted something which would withstand tropical climate, leaving my other guitars in the USA while I'm in Vietnam for a year. To my surprise, this quickly has become my favorite guitar, and I'd rate it as one of my alltime favorites. I prefer it to my 1962 epi Broadway and 1960 Melody Maker. The designers and builders did a great job. If it were stolen or lost, I'd get another immediately, and will keep a close eye on Switch for new models (I've got my eye on an Aurora 12-string at the moment).

2005 Made in China. Full scale neck. Made from some sort of composite material. No wood anywhere on this guitar. Finish is black with a light metal flake. Unique body style, a cross between a Tele and Les Paul (sort of). Grover tuners, stop tail piece, string though body.
The neck, body everthing is all one piece. Very comfortable playing.

The pickup are Alnico, red hot (bridge) Cool Blue (neck) Phase switches also. (and they actually work) I can not expess the sustain on this guitar (goes forever) Roll back the volume knob and the phase switches kick and give you a wide range of tones. I was blown away.
I wish I could say somethine negative...but I cant. The only minor complaint I have is the volume knob is right there, I have a tendency to play hard and my palm (sometimes) hit the volume knob, no biggie)
You can actually hear differences in tones as you play and switch from treble to neck pickup..I mean good differences like fullness of tone from the neck to near 12 string treble from the bridge. Its nutz!Ive owed 100'S of guitars bought this on a whim just to try it out...I now have four switch guitars. You dont know what you are missing if you dont at least try it. Seriously.

The action is perfect, I put a set of ernie ball s slinky 8's and I can spit on the neck and it plays. Frets were excellently dressed, not a single cut or sharp edge. They are medium to jumbo. The Ebonite neck is solid and feels warm to the touch. Bend your heart out...it clean all the way up the neck. Block inlays are cool along with the Vibracell inlay on the 22nd fret. Factory setup was fantastic, all I did was swap out 9's (default) to 8's. Pickups lined up nicely with the neck, no rattles, no scrapes, no paint flaws. Graphite nut.
DID I SAY GET THE EBONITE NECK? Its a must.

Because of the material this axe is made of I have found no instability at all over the winter months. The damn thing will not go OUT of tune. I tried, honestly, I bent the hell out the strings and it just wont go out of tune. The finish is great although kinda weird too...in the back of your mind you think a chunk is going to fall off for some strange reason because it had nothing to soak into like wood. But so far, its held its brilliant luster, I wipe the whole guitar down with a micro fiber cloth after each session.
Hardware tuners -grover- switches , knobs etc all just fine. What do you want me to say? Its all been good.

Well I called customer support to ask about availability of another model they are coming out with...they seemed friendly enough to me. Some guy by the name of Frank was willing to give the history and thoughts behind the creation of the guitar and spent over a half hour chatting over details. I was surprised they would take the time to do so. They were willing to listen to critcal aspects also...surprised again.

Playing for 40 years. If the guitar was stolen I would replace it immediately. Its all I play now. Again, I have owned a lot of guitars.
You keep buying guitars looking for that special one with that special feel and sound. Well, please listen to me, really, check out a Switch guitar...I can not believe major artists have picked up on this guitar...I am so tired of buying guitars (major brands) getting them and the setup sucks, the finish sucks, the neck sucks. You try to pick the best of the lot and still end up with crap. Thats why we have ebay...to sell the crap.
