made, i believe, in korea. has 21 frets and built in speaker. controlls include volume knob, tone knob, on/off switch for speaker, and two 1/4" output jacks for either an amp or headphones. its got a string-through body tailpiece, with tremolo system, and cheap plastic tuners. one pickup by the bridge, a humbucker.

Sound : 7
ok, when plugged into an amp, this guitar is very high-end. i uaually use a fender bass amp with it, and eq-it till it sounds a little more full, and a lot less twangy. when using the built in speaker, however, the sound comes out more full, probably due to the poor quality of the speaker itself, which i'm guessing cant fully reproduce the signal its being sent by the pickup, but seeing as how it almost sounds BETTER like this, it works out in your favor. also, when using the built in speaker, you will get LOTS of feedback, basically because the speaker was put right next to the pickup, go fig. the tuners, of course, are fairly poor, and this guitar will need frequent tuning checks.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 5
the frets wernt cut quite right, so there seems to be a little overhang off the side of the neck. this is barley noticable in a picture, but when i'm playing it, i candefinatly feel it. over all, though, the neck seems fine as far as low-end stuff goes. as to the quaality of the body, i cant really say, but im guessing its plywood

Reliability/Durability : 8
despite its flaws, this guitar is extraordinarilly durable, something ive noticed about the synsonics line. its been dropped, kicked, stepped on, and punched once, and has held up great. i would get the tuners and bridge assembly replaced if its something you want to keep using for a long time. i have yet to do so, and probably wont until i've taken care of my other musical projects (so basically, never)

Customer Support : No Opinion
never had need. probably doesnt exist

Overall Rating : 8
fun, if you can tame it, a great frankenstein guitar candidate, if you are looking for something along those lines
