Looks to be glossy black laquer paint job, looks to be a rosewood fret board with 22 jumbo frets, single 1 coil pickup and i have to say it sounds pretty hot when plugged into my peavy 60 watt bandit.the bridge is a strat style trmolo bridge, came with tremolo arm.has 2 jacks one for output to amp and another for headset, i haven't tried it with a headset yet, has a built in amp with a 3 inch speaker and a switch to turn on the built in amp.taking in consideration that it was built as a childs guitar the sound from the built in amp is ok as a kids guitar goes but not for an adult.i got it used in a pawn shop needed strings and setup real bad, i set it up adjusted string action and intonation, and it sounds good all the way to the 22 fret.has cheep plastic nut but no cheeper than many expensive guitars.the tuners are ok but again it is a childs guitar and they are cheep.witha few modifications this would make a great practice travel guitar but i would not use it for a gig.I dont have no idea what year it was made.from reading other reviews i think it was made in korea.i figured it would be a laminated body but i was wrong however i dont know what type of wood it is,i was impressed to find an adjustable truss rod.Again as a childs guitar i would have to rate it as a 9 or maybe even a 10.

Sound : 10
my music style is country and blues mostly but i play a little of everything except rap.when played trough an amp even with the short scale length i think you could play almost any style of music and make it sound good, provided you do a good setup on the guitar before jamming with it.it sounds real good through my peavy amp,i have not used any of my effects pedals with it yet.most of my playing will be through a roland micro cube, and as such i just grabbed it and plugged it in and it sounds just fine.i just wish it had a tone control, but it sounds just fine without it.the only reason i bought it was to have a cheep guitar to take with me when i am working and that is on the road, when i get a break i can pull off the road and practice to pass the time.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
i got it used so i dont know how it was set up at the factory.when i got it it needed to be set up from start to finnish, truss rod, string heighth, intonation, and by the way there is no adjustment for the pickup,if it needs to go lower you will have to route the cavity deeper,if it needs to go higher it will require shims.the bridge was positioned very good i had no problem setting the intonation.the frets are as good as any 3 or 4 hundred dollar guitar i have ever played.ibanez, mexican strat etc.the tuners are ok but i would replace them with better ones, unless it is for a child that will bang hell out of it a couple days then throw it in the closet and forget it exists.

Reliability/Durability : 10
although this guitar could be used to gig with, i wouldn't.it was not made for giging it was made to be a childs first guitar, well built but cheep in case they don't take an interest in it.it is built kid tough it will take a beating and keep right on going, just like the little pink bunny rabbit.for price and what it was built for you will not find a better guitar or deal.this is a guitar built like a grownups guitar only with a child in mind.a child will feel like a rock star with it.it is quality.

Customer Support : No Opinion
i bought it used, i build guitars and repair them i would never need to go to the manufacturer for anything, unless i wonted parts, and i wouldn't have the slightest idea where to look for the manufacturer.

Overall Rating : 10
i have been playing about fourty or more years.i have to many guitars to mention, way more than i need.but as the old saying goes you can never have to many guitars.everytime i buy or build one i always say this is the last and it is until the next one.if this guitar were lost or stollen, and i were able to find another one i would buy it.for what i got it for i find no bad points for it.and if i did i could only blame myself for buying a childs guitar for an adult.i dint think this should be compared to any other guitars except other's that are built for a child.it would not be fair to compare this to a prs, or fender strat or gibson etc.and would probably be an insult to those people.

White pearlescent/metalflake finish. 21 frets. Originally came with one single-coil pickup in the bridge position. Bridge/tailpiece is a fairly compact version of a Strat hardtail, with strings passed through the back of the tailpiece, not through the body. Six individual saddles for each string. Single control for volume.

This is a very short scale travel/kids' guitar, with roughly a 19 1/2 inch scale.

Sound : 6
Its sound was marginal with the original single pickup at the bridge. Since I bought it at "Guitar Guitar" in Sherman Oaks (no longer there) and they had inexpensive used tuners and pickups, I also purchased a set of Schaller tuners and a Seymour Duncan "Custom" humbucker to add to the guitar. With these additions, it is a fun little travel guitar. Although I suspect the body is laminated wood, I get a decent tone out of it.

NOTE: so that this will be a useful review, I'm rating the sound as it was when the guitar was in factory condition, without the modifications I mentioned above. It sounded fairly decent (for such a small instrument) through my Ampeg Reverberocket II. I had put very heavy gauge strings on it because of the short scale, and it had a fairly solid bass with good highs.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
Considering the price of the guitar, the action was pretty good (perhaps 3/16 of an inch at the 21st fret). The finish is pretty good for a guitar in this price range.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I'm still messing with it so that it sounds good through my home amps, so playing out with it is not in the offing. The hardware is very simple, so it should last. I would never consider using it on a gig without a backup, because I like the longer-scale guitars (e.g. Fenders) and this is simply a novelty with which to mess around.

I've been playing for 38 years. If it were stolen, I'd probably buy a used Epiphone PeeWee or VeeWee (the mini Les Paul or Flying Vee), which are about the same scale length.
