3 single coil pickups, "rosewood" fretboard, whammy bar, yr basic Strat copy. Good beginner guitar or maybe for a "project guitar" to upgrade. Mine came with an cheap lil amp.
Sound
:
5
I never really cared for the stock pickups(hell, the neck position NEVER worked), I replaced them recently with Fender 60's style pickups and now it sounds pretty damn good! The amp that came with it is kind of a piece(I use it as a PA or for my drum machine now) I play it through my Marshall Valvestate and it sounds pretty good, though before the upgrade it sounded kinda flat. There was never much difference between the different pickups, and they sounded really "tinny". IT's a good guitar for Punk or grunge, though metal-heads will want something better.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:

I was still learning to play when I first bought this guitar ten years ago, but over time I learned more about stuff like string action and adjusted it to my liking. The finish is nice(mine's been treated rough over the years and It's held up nice) It's always played pretty easily.

As i said, this guitar's been through a lot(dropped on concrete, dropped on the floor of practice spaces, had soda spilled on it, never had a case), and it's still in one piece. It was my main guitar for about 5 years, and I played it A LOT(until i bought my Les Paul and my Ibanez GAX75, my new Main guitar) the strap buttons that came with it were ok but i replaced them with duncan straplocks anyway. The tuning knobs aren't too bad, it needs a tune up from time to time. The only real problems I've had Over time, i think i stripped the inside of the hole that the whammy bar screws into, but i "fixed" it recently by...well, hitting it, ramming it down to the bottom:) but hey, it doesn't fall out anymore! And also to nut came unglued somehow, plus the high e is kinda digging into it makin it buzz a bit. I'd like to replace the bridge altogether soon.

Overall, I think this guitar is just as good as Fender's "Squire" strats that friends of mine have bought. I'm much happier with mine since I began Upgrading the hardware and electronic, it's a whole new guitar now.

My Synsonics Pro Series has all the standard goodies of your average run of the mill Strat Copy. Nothing in particular stands out as being a great feature, but considering I spent only$40 on the thing, and it has the same features as many $200 guitars, how can I really complain with out coming off like a cheap punk?
Sound
:

I have played so many styles of music (except for all of this new rock and punk crap, where the reverence for hendrix, page, ccr, etc.). I can lay down some scorching leads, mellow riffs. So many people have bad mouthed this instrument, but it's like any instrument in the sense that you have to explore it and actually learn how to play 'it'. Not learn how to play guitar. I remeber what Morrello said about how his first guitar was total crap, bad amp, bad everything, but he learned hot to play 'that' guitar so that 'it' and he sounded good.
I have played this through full stacks of marshalls, on stages big and small, in many studio settings, and at any given point, you can find a sound suitable for what your doing if your good enough to find the instruments voice, but only if you try (I will admit, this guitar can be hard to play if your not willing to take a little time to play 'it' properly). It can be noisy at the 2, and 4 position, but if you know anything about single coils then you know that can happen even to nice ones. Thats why humbuckers are so popular. But the fuzz can be eliminated by turning "DOWN" your volume on either your amp or guitar. Yet again most guitarists think that they need to be the loudest player on the earth. Learn to use your tone and volume controls in conjunction with your selector and equiptment.
Not the fullest sound, depending on your gear. A little bright for my taste, but putting the tone down slightly or turning down a volume switch is enough for me. But if you already have one and this is a big problem then just buy some alnico magnets (Either 2 or 5) and swap out the magnets.
But as I have already said, and have restated for others, learn to use this axe and you can get a variety of sounds, and then when you graduate to nicer guitars you'll know a little more about playing 'guitars'.

I bought the thing used 8 years ago, so I have no clue how it was originally set up. Thank God I know how to use an ALLEN Wrench so I can EASILY lower the action.
The pickups adjust easily, but they do leave a lot for desiring. While I feel like I am defending this instrument from other bad models and a few who can't appreciate this guitar, the p/u's are not really good. Adequate though.
The finish will not die. This guitar probably has at least eight to nine years of honest to God work but it still looks great. I have heard of finish problems on the neck, but mine still looks good.
Reliability/Durability

This particular model will not die. Extremely sturdy construction. This thing will probably outlats just about anyother guitar built in this year model. That is not a joke.
Starp buttons are solid. But I am sad to say I took them out tho install in a guitar that I just finished building. I shipped it out to the luckey buyer and forgot to switch them out with the new ones I purchased for the project. I guess they got a peice of the synasonics soul.
You could depend on mine, yours is a different story. I have read about so many different models of synasonics that there really is no way of telling what your getting when you say that name. So try the guitar out for your self. Never gig without a back up because you never know whats going to happen, remeber SRV's number 1 start? A light fell on it breaking the original neck which was peiced together by a master luthier. What if he didn't have a backup?

I thought they were out of buisness. If they are around still, email me at therealfatman@hotmail.com I would love to browse through one of their catalougs just to compare what I have with other models.

I have been playing all of about 12 years, I own a vintage 73 gibson eb-3 (like jack bruce of the cream?), a telecaster, one johnson acoustic, a kona, a custome built (by me) prs styled electric, and soon to be an sg styled custom built by myself with a few tricks in it's neck pocket (just trying to make a crappy joke, and that was it).
I probably would not buy another. Because I could simply build something nicer for the money, or but something as nice. It is fun to try out a new brand of guitar or bass that you have not played or gigged with before. So why buy the same ole thing twice. Besides, unless I could get that synasonic, I would honestly be scared that I would get one that would create horror stories like in these other reveiws. I hate to say this but sometimes it IS the guitar that sucks.
I would love to see my exact model with alnico 2 or 5 magnets instead of ceramic? or ferrire? magnets, but I could change those out myself if I had the initiative.

NO! does not suit my style ( Blues and Metal ) I use it with the synsonics 15 watt amp and it sounds like an amplified fart. Crappy sound
with little variety. Great begginer guitar, heavy, loose pegs, fuzzy sound.

It was set up ok at the factory but the pick ups are TOTALLY messed up. Some of the tuning pegs are loose besides that it's ok.

The hardware sucks! the finish will last but the strap buttons won't. HELL NO! I can't depend on this crap. Hmmm let me think, would I use it on a gig without a backup? how about NO.

Don't know when or where it was made but I think it was made in Korea. 21 fret. The slightly wide neck is not a roosewood fretboard but just cheaply stained. All olong the low E string the finish wore off. 1 Vol 2 Tone. S/S/S with 5 way selector. Don't know what wood is used but is is really heavy and tough. Good black Satin finish. Strat copy. Not a comfy neck at first but you'll get use to it.

Works for me. The pickups don't buzz with my peavy amp. I got all new strings and they give a weird sound that is fon to play with. It has a ligter sound than my 94 American Telecaster.

Is the body made of metal? IT's heavy and durable. Good hardware. Great finish on the body but cheap shitty finish on the neck. Don't think the strap buttons are to bad. Don't know the dependability.

I've had if for a few months. I'm spoiled with a beautiful 94 American Telecaster that sounds better and has a little narrower neck. I would consider buying more. I love the finish on the satin body. I hate the neck and really hate the tuning pegs. I bought this guitar so I could tune it completly differnt and play a favorite band (Chevelle) and I got a better guitar than I expected but I still love my tele more.

mainly---
most people dont like this guitar b/c they dont want to take the time to "play" the guitar. this guitar is very unique, and it takes time to get used to, if you heard a person who has played this guitar for over 5 years, you'd want one!

This serious piece of crap was made in Korea, and has everything your basic "Look at me, I wanna be a Stratocaster" has except far worse than other imitators. I don't know what this guitar is made of, but it is uncomfortable to have strapped to you.
Sound
:
No Opinion
The sound quality was awful, it sounded like a dying cat when I compared it to my Fender Mexican Strat (which I which I bought when I put aside the money). I play alot of punk/alternative and this Synsonics thing just didn't cut it. When I first got it, I got it from a garage sale with a shitty 15-Watt Synsonics amp, and that amp sucked, it died on me at the most inoportune times. Effects Pedals (in particular a Boss Distortion Pedal I received as a gift with a Danelectro Chorus Pedal) couldn't help make the sound of this heap of shit any better.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:
2
The action was actually the only thing I admired on this "thing." It was nice and fast (even though I don't need a fast playing guitar). The pickups on there sucked, they buzzed like a swarm of PO'ed killer bees. This guitar was a cheap piece o crap with a poorly done finish on it (it blistered after a while) and it was an ugly white color, and I wound up defacing it with loads of stickers as the paint started to come off. This thing also didn't stay in tune for your life.

I only played this guitar live once, and that was for the last song of a set with my old band, I smashed it to pieces after the song was over, I pretty much gave it the Kurt Cobain (R.I.P.) treatment, an act that didn't quite please the organizers of the show, who decided never to book us again, but that's fine because the band has gone its separate ways and I'm putting together a new one with some much better equipment.

I've been playing for almost 4 years, and I must say my new gear is far better than the crap I had before. I now have a Fender Mexican Strat with a 30-Watt Kustom Amp (which was an inexpensive amp, but is tough as nails). I took apart the Synsonics Amp that came with the "garbage heap" and sold it for parts. This heap didn't even come close to my real Strat. Again a serious piece of crap, I will never buy anything Synsonics EVER again.

I've been playing 4 about a lil over 5 yrs now(self teaching)...I recently bought a Jackson DKMG and if someone stole my Pro-S I would definetly purchase another one in the future. Although there's a lot of trash talking about this guitar i look at it this way, "you get what you paid for" If you want a GREAT sound...well you just gonna have to let go a few extra bucks and pay for it instead of trying to get horse power out of a Toyota echo, hehe. Its a great learning guitar and i give it a A+. I plan to pass mine to my rugrat when he's old enough. SO DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR ITS A SUPER GUITAR

It dosnt suit my metal style with my Marshall MG50RCD an electric accoustic sounds better than that thing.
Marshall MG50RCD, Kustom 10watt, Marshall MG30RCD, Boss Distortion, Zoom GFX 707, DOD Dethmetal Distortion
it has strange pickup noise, w/5way switch on bridge setting
sounds crappy, no bright sound more like fuzzy or even a fart sometimes
it can do a twang sound really well
I HATED THAT THING... I have a Jackson KX10D and a C.F. Martin "Stinger" they sound great

It was really setup great
pickups adjust easilly
the bridge housing is verry rough
the tuning peg was loose on the high E string

i wouldn't use it live if my life depended on it!
the hardware sucks
The finish is great
The strap will stay inplace but the guitar is too fuckin heavy to hold up for a whole set.
No i cant depend on it it's in pieces now.
i wouldn't use it on a gig without a backup if you took one not even half dive with the whammy (which dosn't come with it) the guitar will be out of tune.
