I bought this guitar for my teenage daughter. She is learning on a Squier electric but prefers the Takamine for playing. Being musically inept, I have to say that this puppy sounds good. People who play and that are musically inclined like the sound and feel.
I cannot hear any buzzing or unusual sounds and people who know a lot more than I do said that it sounds good and plays great.
This thing also sounds nice when plugged into an amp.

I bought the guitar as a birthday present from ebay, blemished model. Taking a look at it, it seemed to be pretty darn nice in finish and construction. I couldn't find a thing wrong with it. The glossy black finish is not to my taste, but my daughter loves it.
My daughter initially complained that it was hard to play compared to her electric, but after having several very good guitar people look at it, the guitar is set up very well. My daughter now loves to play it (after a years worth of practice). I was told that it does not need to be lowered and to leave it alone.
So far I am stringing, and tuning this puppy. The on board electric tuner is always a help.

My daughter has had this thing for about two years and being a kid, does NOT take great care with it. Having the young nieces and nephews abusing it just makes me believe that it is very well constructed. There are some scratches on it now, but that is expected. I am very pleased with this instrument

I am looking to buy my daughter a purely acoustic "beater" guitar to take where ever she wishes. This Takemine is not the guitar for this. I have used this web site for researching on numerous occasions and wanted to add something about a very nice buy. I would definitely recommend this guitar and would purchase it again.
