Nice even tone across the fingerboard. Great projection for strumming or fingerstyle. Very good definition in the base right up the fingerboard for a ply guitar. Low string noise and squeaks.
Action, Fit, & Finish

Factory set-up was very good although the truss rod needed tightening a bit. This improved the action dramatically. Two frets were also sitting proud and needed to be tapped in and dressed off. Enclosed tuners are quite adequate for the cost. Finish and construction are very good. All other aspects of the finish are flawless.
Reliability/Durability

This guitar will last many years with no real problems. Better tuners could be fitted when needed but this is a minor consideration. Good quality strap buttons should be fitted if required. Build is very strong and I doubt any structural problems would ever occur.

No Opinion
I have only had it one week but I think that takamine would honour their 1 year warranty.

I've been playing for 28 years. Other guitars include a nylon string electric and an Ibanez Artcore electric. I love this guitar because it sounds and plays great for such a low purchase price and I have had quite expensive guitars that were not as good. I tried several other guitars including a really nice Aria solid top dreadnaught but decided against it because it was not as comfortable for fingerstyle and it had a lot of string noise/squeaks.
