This guitar is absolutely gorgeous.
It has a Bear Claw Spruce Top and Mahogony back and sides (no laminates here this is all solid wood).
It has cream colored binding along the fret baord, around front and back of the body and along the end pin joint from top to back of the guitar.
It has nice gold tuners that stay in tune.
It has abalone cross patterns on the fret markers, around the sound hole and making up the headstock logo.
This guitar also has a split bridge to keep the strings in tune all the way up the neck.
This guitar also is loaded with the fantastic Cool Tube Preamp which in my opinion is light years above anything on the market.
You can also add the Takamine Tri-ax pickup in addition to the cool tube to add that extra top touch and expand the tonal pallete.
There is also a mosaic pattern running from neck to end pin on the back split of the guitar.
The 340S doesn't have a cutaway.
The neck is 1 and 3/4in at the nut so it's thick but feels natural.
The fretboard is ebony.
This is a dread design.

This guitar sounds absolutely fantastic plugged or unplugged, the projection is awesome and it has distinct low mids that arent found on some other high end guitars.
note seperation is very good and clear.
the electronics are precise and clean no noise of operation to be found.
This is a fantastic singer songwriter guitar and could be used to cover all genres you would use an acoustic for.

The wood is beautiful and the fit is awesome throughout the guitar, a little truss rod adjustment and its good to go.
the guitar stays in tune as well as my Taylor GS.
I will say that pictures of this guitar do not in any way do it justice...prepare to fall in love with the way light changes the look of the guitar as it moves during playing.
The guitar also has some nice heft to it, not a light guitar but rather very solid and well constructed.
This guitar is discontinued and if you are lucky enough to find one snag it up....it's a steal at 1000.00 in nice condition.

I have played this guitar at outside gigs where it was 100 degrees and pulled it out of the case to find it in tune and stayed in tune.
The finish on the headstock gets a touch milky over time but you have to get right up on it to see it, the other finish used is durable and beautiful, strap buttons and all hardware is solid and reliable.
I use this guitar as main and sometimes backup on stage frequently, it's a solid dependable performer.

I would deffinately buy this guitar again if I could find another.
you will love the tone you get out of this sound cannon.
I have been playing for over 12 years and play high quality gear, and this guitar is no exception...it's a fine instrument and can hang with Taylors and the like all day long...anyday.
the preamp is the icing on the cake, none like it on the market to date....the tube is fat and rounded, your tone expectations will never be the same after playing a Tak with a cool tube preamp.
