Features : 10
Manufactured around 1975 in Japan by Tama for a few short years. Solid blond, white spruce top, very solid guitar. Bought in the mid 70's new for just over $550. That was a lot of money to me at the time. This Tama has beautiful inlay on all the edges and gold plated tuning pegs with stars on reverse side. I have seen a number of Tamas in my life but not one quite like this. Truly a work art and love. Has been played consistently over the years and have had any problems. Tama featured the new Invisible Neck Adjustment system, at that time and was built under strict quality control.

Sound : 10
Have characteristics from Martin, Gibson and Guild and an incredible range of sound. Always stands out when playing wit others. Not a real twangy sound but very distinct high, low and mid-range.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
I still have my Lifetime Guarantee card signed by Quality Controller and Distribution Inspector. The only problem I ever had after I first bought it was E string would occasionally catch on an upper fret. This was quickly fixed by a very minor adjustment and I never had the problem again. For an acoustic guitar, it frets very nicely and bar cords is easy to play.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar has withstood the test of time and has been play professionally. The finish and laminate coating has stood up very well. No scratches or dings. It has been my main guitar over the years. Can't imagine being without it.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to send it in.

Overall Rating : 10
Best value ever on an acoustic. Highly suggest if you can buy one, get it while you can. This is a classic. If lost or stolen, it's probably irreplaceable, but I would look for another one. I have had this Tama since it was new and that is when I started playing. I have a number of guitars like a Framus and a Gibson acoustic and they were good guitars but not as good as my Tama. My friend bought a new $1,500 Taylor and I would not swop him even. This guitar has been a faithful friend over the years and has been everywhere with me. I hope hand it down to one of my children when I'm gone.
