1996, solid top, 20 frets, don't know what materials etc - I'm no expert.

very loud and bright with good tone but lacks the subtle harmonics of really good guitars. Still puts many a more expensive instrument in the shade - shines out through the cacophony of my weekly group guitar class. Great for fingerpicking as the volume on the unwound strings is undiminished as on previous guitars that I,ve owned.

there were no flaws on the guitar whatsoever when bought - almost too perfect - they all look exactly the same. The action is good, but not too low, so it avoids any buzzing even when played hard in D tuning. The neck is as straight as a die and stays so even with different string gauges. Intonation is also perfect....so far!

The giutar would stand live playing, unfortunately I wouldn't. It's only four years old but it still looks in showroom condition despite never being kept in a hard case or anything.

I got it from Forsythes in Manchester, England. I've never had to go back. Tanglewood - where are they? China?

Playing 15 years. If it were stolen I,d get the Earth 1000. It sounds the same but for #50 more you get all the frills - its looks really great!
I tried quite a few guitars when I bought it. Most were more expensive - Fenders, Guilds etc, but the Tanglewood sounded better than them all - at least in the shop anyway. The neck is a bit flat a and narrow for my fat fingers but for the money it was by far the best at the time.
