made in 1999 in el cajon, ca. 25th anniversary model w/mahogany top-back-sides. Fishman Electronics which were quickly changed to a lr baggs onboard ibeam. A very beautiful guitar w/a very warm tone. Good tuners made by grover, much better than taylor tuners. Skb molded case w/taylor guitars on it..very cheap case..the second downfall. First year of the NT neck design by taylor...a huge step in the guitar world for them!

Sound : 10
Very warm, bluesy tone. I lead worship multiple times per week with it at my church Calvary Chapel Goodyear/Avondale. No effects straight throught the boss tuner to the lr baggs para di. Amazing sound with the ibeam..the fishman was terrible.

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
Set-Up with light strings..i play a little more aggresive. Went up to medium elixirs (very nice). No real flaws, just the case and bad choice on pickups from taylor.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Very reliable..the way that it is set-up is amazing. Very durible..I love this guitar..Of course it needs to be professionally set-up every 6 months (thats because i am very picky and I live in arizona..very dry). I never trust a guitar without a backup, just because of string breakage.

Customer Support : 10
Taylor is a great company that is making huge steps in the guitar world. Leaving many others far behind..not afraid to try something new(example T5). Dealt with them on questions...very good.

Overall Rating : 10
Been playing for 10 years..I am 22 years old. Bought it used 3 years ago. I love this guitar...If it were lost or stolen I would have to buy something else. Because there were only 350 of these guitars ever made.

It is completely made of mahogany. Very rare. As far as I know there are only existing approx. 350 guitars worldwide.

The guitar is a so called "Commemorative model - 25 anniversay-model" built in 1999. Besides that is it very similiar to the standard model 314 CE (Fishman-prefix-system, Gotoh-hardware, finish, case)

Sound : 10
Absolutely outstanding and difficult to describe: Due the mahogany wood it sounds much more smoother than other acoustics. Despite that the sound is cristal clear with enough bass and with a lot of sustain.

To sum up: Exellent like nearly all Taylor-guitars but expecially concerning this model a matter of personal taste!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The neck is extremly comfortable to play (one of the main reasons why I have bought it)

Finish is top quality.

In general: Nothing to complain about.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I you take a little bit care, it will last forever.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to use it

Overall Rating : 10
I will never sell it (unless I need the money very urgently and that will hopefully never happen).

This guitar is because of the special sound uncomparable.

Year mmade - 1999, in El Cajon, CA. The guitar is of solid wood construction, featuring a Honduran mahogany single piece top, sapele mahogany back and sides, mahogany neck and ebony fretfoard. The 314 signifies a Taylor 300 series grand auditorium guitar; the MCE signifies mahogany, cutaway, with on-board electronics (Fishman Prefix). The 314-MCE is a 25th anniversary edition of the 314-CE. That model has a sitka spruce top. The finish is satin on the sides and back and a high gloss top. The guitar features 20 frets, Grover chrome tuners, ebony bridge, and a Taylor hardshell case that fits the guitar like a glove.

Sound : 10
Once I played the guitar, I had to have it. Even though it is part of Taylor's least expensive series, don't be fooled. this is a classy guitar that sounds fantastic. Once in tune, it never goes out of tune. Not as full sounding (not as much bass)as a dreadnaught, but that's to be expected. Favorably compares to a Martin. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Taylor. In fact, I'm already looking. For a guitar maker only in business for 25 years, Bob Taylor seems to have figuered out how to make it right.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The neck is fast, the strings are low, with no buzzing. What more could you ask for? The guitar has no flaws that I can find. This guitar replaced a Washburn D12S that I had for about 4-5 years. To be fair, though, these guitars can't be compared. The Taylor is definitely in a different league. The finish is absolutley beautiful. The guitar features Taylor's new neck design. To find out more about this design, order the free video from Taylor's web site, and while you're at it, order a copy of their great catalog.

I've only had the guitar for about 2 months. But, I can tell that it was made by true craftsmen, and I am confident that the guitar will only get better and better with age. I haven't had a gig for about 27 years, but if was playing professionally (or at least for money) I wouldn't think twice about taking along this guitar only with a spare set of strings.

Customer Support : 9
I'v only ssked a few questions via the Taylor web site, which were answered within one or two days, which was very impressive. Reviewers of other Taylor guitars were very satisfied with Taylor's support.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing on and off since 1965. My other guitars are a '67 Fender Strat and a 1976 Takamine 12 string acoustic (which will be replaced by a future Taylor). If it were stolen, I would first be heartbroken, but would definitely buy it again, if I could find it, since it was a limited edition model.
