Taylor 420ce-L5 was made around May 2004.All solid wood onboard with Expression system (pre-amplifier three knob control volumne treble and bass with two cardoid microphone). The body(top side & back) are Tasmanian blackwood mahogany neck ebony fingerboard & ebony bridgeplate. Tasmanian blackwood look very beautiful it's dark streak with orange yellow and greenish curly flame on top & back. All are bookmatch. Top is gloss finish side and back are satin finish. The body is dreadnought with cutaway. Taylor chrome tuner.I don't like the designed of tuner I like Grover style. It's came with black hard shell case stereo jack cable and hex screw driver and one CD.

Sound : 10
I play acoustic rock blue and country and pop.Plug it by stereo cable into XLR socket of Trace Elliot Ta100R. First I pluged it by mono jack the sound is OK. When plug it by stereo the sound is superb incredible it's rich full and clear sweet sound. It's not bright as spruce/rosewood.It's owned character of Blackwood . By Harmony-central.com I'm surveyed for Blackwood and Koa tonewood from another brand Avarez-Yairi WY-1K, Larrivee J-10KK, Heiner Dreizehnter model A and Taylor K22, 20KE-L7 . All the reviews Blackwood and Koa make the same sound. It's unique. Tasmanian blackwood(Acasia Malanoxylon) and Koa(Acacia Koa)are the same plant species. All sound are balanced not loud and boom as spruce/rosewood. It's good for strumming and fingerpicking.I love it.

Taylor set up is perfect. No flaw. I dont'like top gloss. The Expression system is so quiet.

I will play it in live playing. I'm 56 yrs old.I'm back to play guitar for relax and exercise to prevent Alzymer. It's will be last long with me.

I have been playing guitar for along time jut for relax only. another guitar is Gibson les paul standard. Fender strat japanese 50 reisue. 37 years old Yamaha FG110 red label my first laminate guitar. It's my first solid wood guitar.Because of the sound is unique it's sweetest and it look so cool then I bought it. I compared with Martin D-28. Martin D-28 is loud but boomy mid and high so tiny but brighter. If it was stolen I would by Taylor Hawaiian Koa series.
