97 model, Spruce top, Koa Back and sides, Satin finish, all soild woods, after all it's a Taylor.
Very plain looking and unassuming, that is until you pick it up and start playing. Very good electronics, my only wish is to have it fited with the expression system, unfortunatley not possible due to older neck style.

Great sound, good rythm guitar
Action, Fit, & Finish

Action fits me like a glove, the finish is plain satin and doesn't draw attention to itself, which suits me just fine, that is until you start playing it, after all itys all about the sound
Reliability/Durability

Spent many a long and late night with friends and this guitar. very reliable and durable, and what makes it even better.... since it's not a flashy guitar, I never overly worry about the finish

Never had to deal with Taylor directly, the local taylor dealer handled everything for me. Had a small issue with the fishman pickup, and the dealer fixed it right up at no charge, awesome service especially since I bought it used.

Pretty straight forward. Drednought body shape (which I don't think Taylor uses anymore for their 12 strings), mahogany back and sides, nice almost orange colored Sitka spruce top with some good figure and a litte bit of bearclaw. I'm not a huge bearclaw fan, but it gives this guitar some unique character. As far as I know, this is all solid wood. I don't think Taylor has ever used laminates except on their new entry level guitars and the Baby series. Fretboard is ebony (no streaking, which I prefer), and pearl dot inlays. White and black binding, white sound hole rosette, white Taylor logo headstock inlay. Looks like a good ol' fashioned acoustic. Nothing fancy or radical, but traditional is okay with me.

This is the only 12 I've ever owned, but I have played a few others. I love the way this guitar sounds flatpicked one string at a time. It really sings. Bright and a little punchy (but not in a bad way). Light strumming is quite lovely and big open chords are sweet. My only complaint is that it seems to get a little muddy or overdriven when strummed hard. This is surprising to me since Sitka is usually the best top for really banging out the rhythms (in my experience). I have always kept this guitar tuned down a whole step with medium strings, so perhaps that has something to do with it, but for the price and playability this guitar is well worth it.

The action is great, the finish looks good (except for one microscopice bubble in the finish on the top binding). No other issues here.

It appears to be built very well. I've noticed that it even has side bracing, which is very nice given the stress that 12 strings can take. I've used it at gigs and recording and it hasn't let me down.

This was my first Taylor. I bought it used and sight unseen and I have not been dissappointed in the least. It is a fine instrument. I have a Fishman RareEarth installed on it and it does a decent job cutting through the mix at gigs, etc. If this guitar were lost or stolen I would certainly see if I could find another one of these. Overall, this is a great workingman's 12 string.

Made in USA. In terms of features, this is a basic acoustic dreadnought 12 string. Original owner added a Fishman Acoustic Matrix saddle pu, and a 2nd strap button. Came with a very nice Taylor custom manufactured case. This particular guitar is a '96, and features mahogany sides and back, with a spruce top. It has a satin finish. Grover tuners. Docco on how to care for the instruemtn, in terms of hunidity, storage, etc.

Sounds great! It has a very full sound, and stays in tune well. It absolutely shimmers when plugged in via the Fishman. Would be great for any style acoustic playing.

Very low action, extremely easy to play. Aside from a few minor dings and some stand wear on the back, it's fine.

Dunno, only had it a week or so, but Taylor guitars have a good rep, and my '97 model 410 has given me no troubles.

Dunno, never had too.

Have been playing off and on for over 20 years, and this is only my 2nd 12 string... the first being a Washburn, and this Taylor puts that one to shame.... in fact, I traded it in as part of the deal for this one. This guitar is like my '97 410... same construction, wood types, finish... it's like I have a matched set, or something. :-) This is a great sounding instrument, and I'm very pleased to have gotten it.
