Like the last reviewer, I don't think there's much point re-hashing features. It's an acoustic guitar with some beautiful cosmetic upgrades from the standard model. It's also the best acoustic I've ever played.
Sound

A very complex sound, extremely resonant, and very sophisticated. It's hard to describe it properly, but it is extremely pleasant. It's not your usual boomy, bassy dreadnought: it has very articulate mids, and I think it suits fingerpicking down the ground, but it is also very pleasant for strumming, having a nice bright, wide-spectrum sound.
Action, Fit, & Finish

The action is where this guitar REALLY shines. I have never, ever, laid fingers on a guitar with a better action. With no exaggeration, it gives a lot of electric guitars a run for their money... and with NO fret buzz. Incredible!
The finish is gorgeous too. From its glossy body to its satin neck, the ebony bridge to the abalone detailing and the snowflake inlays. Gorgeous. The satin neck is the most remarkable feature to me, and really can't be described.
Reliability/Durability

I've never had a single problem with it in the whole time I've had it. I treasure it, so I treat it like a baby, but I wouldn't doubt it would handle some rough treatment if someone was so monstrous as to be careless with it.

Everyone by now nows what this guitar consist's of as to materials and such.

From the moment I played it I could not put it down. Ive owned it for over a year now and its really opened up a lot. When out of the case I keep it on a wall hanger, and the other day my wife's friends were over and cackling in the living room when I noticed a strange sound comming from my den, and there it was, hanging on the wall, Resonating to the voices in the other room, and Resonating loud... So for those who say this guitar does'nt have something special, I have to disagree. I must say though, I did go through a lot of strings before I found what I liked. However, I found that DR vintage bronze and D'Adarrio's seem to work really well. Ive played for over thirty years and have never been more impressed than I am with the tone and volume of this dred.
Action, Fit, & Finish

I tend to dig in a bit when I play and when I got it I had to make few adjustments. Other than that, No Complaints. However, If you have short fingers or suffer from arthritis, you may find the scale and nut width a bit cumbersome. I personally have never encountered a more beautiful Guitar. Stunning and simply flawless. Its extremely light too, Mine ways in at under 3lbs. The finish is nice and tight and very well done.

When I found this wonderful Dread I was very skeptical, and searching for something that would inspire me. Ive been more than inspired, maybe even uplifted a bit also. In all the years I spent playing, so many guitars.I know if I lost it it couldnt be replaced, but for now I have the one Ive been searching for. I know its not for everyone, but for me, this one is a keeper. Thank you uncle Bob....

Made in 2002 14 frets to body, solid sproce top, mahogany sides and back (solid) no cutaway. This instrument differs from the standard 510 by having tortoiseshell bindings to the body (front and back) and an abaloe rosette. The Grover tuners and both strap buttons are also gold plated. The bosy is finished in high gloss laquer. The bridge is equipped with ebony pins, each with a mop eye. The guitar comes with a perfectly matched wooden case.

Although I preominantly finger pick (the action and neck seem pperfectly suited to this) the thing that sold me on the instrument initiakly was the salesman in the shop strumming with a pick - after having listened to him plaing a number of other instruments (Avalon, Larivee etc) the Taylor just seemd to be in a different league.

Pefect. The instrument looks faultless. The plaing action seems fine, although I will be re-stringing shortly with a lighter guage, so it my require some adjustment then.

All the boxes are ticked. Buttons secure, tuners firm, laquer/varninsh strong. As with all Taylor Guitars the instrument is quite light, so only time will tell if it has the durability for a long life. But, it sounds so good I'm prepared to sacrifice a few years use.

I've been playing for about 25 years on and off. After owning a Yamaha 441 for 5 years and not really getting back into playing, I decided to buy a decent guitar and play a lot more. This machine certainly gives me an incentive to do that!
When I started to look for a guitar 5 definately wanted a handmade English guitar - but was won over to the Taylor by the sound and the fit and finish of this machine, nothing at this proce compared.
If the instrument needed to be replaced I would be very sorry because the instrument isn't made any more. But I cetainly would begin my search with Taylor again.
