African Ovangkol back and sides, solid sitka spruce top. gloss finish, fishman eq with treble, bass, frequency, and contour.
indian rosewood fretboard. this guitar is sweeeeet. tone, volume, playability, and projection are perfect, piezo is not quacky or poppy at all. single cut away. came with case. the only thing i wish it had was a mic/blender system instead of the one that it came with. i use this for studio and live performances. no backup needed.

Sound : 9
I play rock, metal, blues, and everything in between. this guitar is perfect for all. i use the guitar either through a pa, acoustic amp, or any electric amp sounds good with any. piezo is not noisy. has a very bass full sound the highs could cut through a little more but are fine as long as the sound guy brings them up in the mix. the guitar innotation is soooo nice that harmonics can be played perfectly on any frett. taylor are very sensitive to the envirnment though.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
factory set up was fine for me, a little minor adjustments and it is perfect for me. action is fantastic. bookmatching and routing are fine.

Reliability/Durability : 10
i use without backup all the time. seems like a guitar that will last a lifetime if taken care of and not used too roughly. finish is very nice once the guitar ages.

Customer Support : No Opinion
have not delt with company.

i have been playing for 7 years, i own a line6 flextone II, a crate cr-112, numerous effects, and an ibanez s470qs. if it were stolen i would file an insurance claim and buy another one with a blender system. i love everything pretty much.

body and design are good, woods are holding up, and pickup sounds great.

Sound : 9
has a good full sound. you have to play one to describe it.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
Came with elixir strings, good strings, but i would prefer a set of bronze. Elixir strings are bulky and deaden the sound. The action is pretty good. For my likes though i like it fast and low without sacrificing much sound. The factory sets are good though it can be easily adjusted to my specs.

Reliability/Durability : 8
It has held up so far, i've only had it for about 2 months, but i'm sure its around a year or two old. I'll learn more as it ages and the wood relaxs.

Customer Support : No Opinion
haven't had to use any customer support yet.

i've been playing for 9 years and this is the best acoustic i've owned.

I bought this in September of 1999, it was made about a month before. 20 frets, Dreadnought with single cutaway, solid Koa side and back, solid Sitka spruce top. Fishman piezo electric pickup, 3 EQ band with volume and frequency controls. Grover tuners. Came with a hardshell case. Fingerboard and rosette are plain as all 410 models are.

Sound : 10
Playing acoustically, the sound is absolutely beautiful. I've been playing for over 30 years, and I've never heard a guitar that has a more balanced sound than this guitar. The cutaway means that it doesn't have all of the bass you get in a full dreadnought, but it has plenty for a full, balanced sound, and has good volume. I play weekly with it in a coffehouse, through a Fender Acoustasonic sfx amp, and I truly never have an evening when people don't compliment the combination.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
After buying the guitar I took it in and had the neck set up, and a small amount of wood removed from the bass side of the bridge. It wasn't bad before, but it wasn't perfect, either...bass strings got a little high down the neck. Now its perfect, a pleasure to play.

Reliability/Durability : 10
It seems to hold up well, I guess time will tell. I took it with me from San Francisco to Phoenix and checked it through baggage both ways without a problem. I've had no mechanical or electronic problems so far. I also treat it as if it was glass. Finish has held up so far, no dings or scratches (presently 5 months old).

Customer Support : No Opinion
No experience with Taylor yet. I paid for the neck work, as the repair shop (the one I was sent to by the store) said that the neck was OK as it was. And it was, but I figure if you're going to buy a Taylor, the neck can be perfect, and so it should be. Now it is.

Overall Rating : 9
A beautiful guitar. The more expensive Taylors add visual touches that are nice, but I really wanted the sound and the neck. I played Taylors and Martins all around the bay area before I bought this one. If I had a change to make, I might ask for a dual piezo and acoustic pickup, but because of the Acoustasonic sfx amp, the sound is very rich even with just the piezo. I'd buy it again in a New York second.
