I have been playing since 1964, that dosn't make me good, just old. But I have played a lot of guitars. I have owned Martins, Fenders, Gibsons and a lot of off brands I picked up at garage sales. I sold a lot of stuff to buy my Taylor for retirement and it is the best guitar I have found for the money. The sound lets me play quiet in my room or on stage with 6000 watts pushing the system. The sound remains flawless. I don't know much about the tropical wood and all that, but I like the ease of getting to the electronics. I didn't get the problem case everyone talks about, so I have no problem there. My son plays a hundred times better than I do and will get my Taylor when he pulls it from my cold dead fingers. I left it in my will.

features?? uhh it looks like alot of acoustic guitars. yes youre right i dont know very much about guitars i just play them. why did i buy this one? I went into the local guitar store to try out acoustics. I played probably 20-25 martins and taylors. This one just seemed to sound the best and play the easiest. The best this in my opinion about it is the effortless fretting. Not to mention it sounds beautiful. My best purchase yet.

I like to play all styles of music. I think it is very versitile in sound. You can rock out on it or play softly (fingerpick) and it sounds good. I havnt plugged it in much. I dont have an acoustic amp but i plug it into my small peavy practice amp and the electronics sounded decent. I used a chorus pedal with it and it was definately a unique sound. It has a very bright full sound. Dont have any dislikes about it so far

like i mentioned before the action is superb. I played several of the more expensive taylors and this one seemed to have the smoothest action. I am willing to sacrifice a little bit of sound for good playability

I think this guitar would be great for live playing. I've seen alot of crappy acoustics that have been used for live playing that took alot of abuse. Why would a kick ass taylor like this not withstand? The hardware and finish are pretty decent in my opinion. I did NOT buy this guitar for looks. There is nothing really that jumps out at you as far as appearance. It has really nice inlay. Nice strap buttons. overall very dependable

i have been playing for about 4 years. I own 3 electric guitars. If i lost this guitar I would try my hardest to find this exact model again. I love the action on it. I dont hate ANYTHING about it except the credit card bill every month :( It was totally worth the money spent though. I compared it to several taylors and martins expensive and cheap. I wish it was a little more elaborate looking. It looks kind of plain. But seriously, who cares about looks. It sounds awesome, plays like a dream, and stays in tune. What more do you want. I have to admit, the only reason i tried taylor guitars out is because of the buzz about them. It seems like all my favorite guitar players have switched to taylors over the years. And everyone i know raves about them. Well guess what, they are right. Its kind of like les paul electrics. Theres a reason why you hear so much about them and why everyone uses them. I once saw Travis Meeks from Days of the New in his hometown in Indiana. He smashed his $4000 taylor because he was mad at the crowd. I grabbed a piece of it. It was a beautiful guitar. What an asshole

The 2001 Taylor 410 CE Limited Edition is a dreadnought style acoustic guitar with all the bells and wistles of the 410 ce line. In addition to the regular 410 ce models, this Limitd Edition has solid koa sides and 3 piece back, white neck binding, pointed cross fingerboard inlays, 1 & 3/4" nut, ebony bridge pins, and the Martin 28 style soundhole rosette and bindings. Also it came with a very heavy brown case. The electronics is the Fishman Prefix Plus. The Sitka spruce top is AAAA grade or near master grade. The Koa is nice and has a hologram type of luster that changes from dark to light. The finish is matt/satin. The Koa is not high grade, no flames. In fact, the Koa does not look like Hawaiian Koa, and could be Australian Acacia. According to Taylor Guitars, there was 239 of these made in 2001. I would rate this guitar higher if it had higher grade koa and a gloss finish on the Koa.

This guitar is great for open tuning fingerpicking, and strumming. It handles agressive attack, and fingerpicking tones can be phrased. The sound is dynamic: it has very strong highs, very bright/brilliant. The large scalloped bracking, and tight grained sitka top gives the Koa a chance to bring out the mid notes/strings, and the bass. Like other solid Koa wood guitars, it has bright mids, and warm bass sustain and a sort of delay in the attack. It works well with open tunings and a capo. The electronics give you a big range of sound to manipulate with a good amp such as the SWR California Blonde. I have tried Phosphor Bronze strings, and they do not work well (much too bright and tinny sounding). The bronze strings work well. The Elixirs (as dull as they sound) work really well, even after a month. But the best sound comes from the Nano coated Elixirs. The reason I purchased this guitar was because of the great sound.

The Taylor construction is outstanding. Excelent work, no flaws. The action is perfect. The shape is even, the top was matched well, the back wood was not bookmatched 3 piece. This guitar would have looked great with a gloss back and sides. My only problem is, the heavy brown case is extreemly tight. As a result, the Fishman EQ smashes into the protective padding, whcih may be damaging to the electronics as well as the case. I am in the process of getting this problem fixed. I rate this guitar a 10, and I rate the Mexican made case a 5.

This is a well crafted instrument made with high quality materials. With the NT new neck design, I look forward to having this guitar play and sound as good as it did the day I purchased it. I hope to keep this guitar for a lifetime.

I have been playing on and off for over 25 years. I own Martin guitars, and have tried others. I should have found the fault on the case when I purchased it. If this were stolen or lost, I would get another Taylor, but it would take some time to find another guitar with the features and spruce top this one has. The thing(s) I love about this guitar is the sound, action, quality of luthiership, and materials. Although Hawaiian Koa is one of the fastest growing trees, the Hawaiian Koa is being poached more now than at any time in history. The State of Hawaii is not able to monitor the Koa forest, and this wood is due to becoming endangered. Good Koa guitars are already becoming harder to find.
