the year of manufacture is unknown. It was made in japan It has 24 frets wich are just a plastic type of fret board thats screwed tp the body. The body is a big solid piece of maple, its about3foot long10 inches wide and 2 inches deep.the top edge has white binding andits finished in a rosewood laquer. The controles are 1 volume controle 1 tone nob,it has 2 switches to turn each pickup on or off, these are of the seesaw type.there are two passive pickups one is original and one is a much bigger after market job(so big in fact that the modifier chiped the edge with the numbers on it from the volume nob.the nut and the bridge are made up of a u shaped holder that holds a steel rod wich acts as the string goey over type thing, the bridge is adjustable with 2 knurled spring loaded screws.the tuning heads aer the size of a smallbass guitar and are cream plastic the are part of an assembly thats sits in a recess in the bridge end of the guitar.the whole thing stands on for crome extendable legs that screw into the underneath of the guitar.Unfortunatly the pedal mechinism did not come with the guitar but I think that is a 4 pedal.I bought it for 100 dollars from an add that read "hawian style guitar with 4 crome extendable legs $100"

Sound : 7
It has a very good tone and the tone control goes from a veey muddy type bass to a razor sharp trebel.I play mostly rock/blues/country/punk type of stuff and have used it for solo shows and in a band situation ,I find it at its best with the tone nob at about half way not to heavy not to light.Used with distortion (musicman 112 rd) it has a real gutsy full sound ,with a clean signal it produces a nice mellow sound very suitable for all your country hoe downs. For the money I cant fault it but it is a cheap old guitar and I am sure many steel git enthusists may not think it to flash.my only dislike is the pickup switches tend to get knocked if my playing gets to exsuberant

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
Action is not an issue as its a slide, however the general make of the guitar seems to be a good one all round,I mean how hard is it to make a rectangular hunk of wood. There is the binding wich is in perfect condition for a guitar of this vintage.I know that teisco wern't the be all and end all but this one is purtty darn good

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guit is a rock i have used many times and it just keeps going.I have no other slide and I have no problems with using this one without a backup.the finish is worn and it has the signature of"bob log the third" on it but it must be at least 20.30 years old so its not to bad
