o-k,so these things weren't all great.i'm one of the lucky ones. my grandfather gave this to me like 30 yrs ago after the first guitar he bought me,a gibson sg,was stolen by some teenagers.(i was 5,what could i do?) the neck on this guitar is amazing,it's laminated with like 50-60 layers and NEVER goes out. i mean it has never been adjusted at all since i've owned it and it's still strait as an arrow.i am a little iffy about the string spacing even after 30 years though.it's alot narowwer than anything else,so adition warm up time comes in handy. alot of people don't like the pickups on these but mine have such a full fat bassy crunchy sound that i honestly play it as much as my les paul or schecter.the pickups however aren't mics as most people claim, they're just cheap ceramic pickups with no potting . the knobs did get lost years ago however,so turning the stubborn bastards can be rough if your not used to sweet talking them. my only real issue with this is the pick-up switches. not sure what kind of "metal" the contacts are made of but they need to be CLEANED yearly. not wiped off...cleaned. as in: the removal of unbelievable amounts of oxidation and funk of an unknown variety. stays in tune for literally months on end. so all in all, while quality control was not an issue at the del ray factory(or basement) i did get very lucky with this one. long live my del ray e-200.

Sound : 7
as long as i keep my switches cleaned, this thing sounds incredible. deep, full, fat, bassy tone. almost elastic in bending...awesome

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
again,i got really lucky.either my grandfather set mine up before he gave it to me 30 years ago or someone at del-ray got bored and actually did one themselves.frets have always been tight, never popped up on me. tuning pegs hold like the spartans at thermopoly!even the intonation was dead on when i got her and still is.
still, only issue is string spacing.made for little japanese hands.

Reliability/Durability : 8
can i depend on it...hell yes.i've played livetons of times and i never get tired of watching the guitar junkies faces when i put down my paul and come back with this.thier expressions go from amusement and out right laughter to jaws on the floor when we go into 46&2 by tool.LOVE IT.

company has long since died.never needed the warranty.

I got this one used from ebay, so the finish, neck, frets, etc. were kind of "iffy". I had almost given up on it before playing. Good thing I didn't! I do like the rocker switches, cause they let you switch pickup configurations real quickly. I wouldn't think the wood is very great. It uses passive electronics, and very deep bassy microphonic pickups.

Sound : 10
The pickups sound great! Really deep, low, full, and BIG sounding. It's perfect for my playing style, which is primarily blues. I use little peavey 30 watt tube amp and a boss distortion pedal (a cheap setup) and the guitar does tend to feedback when you really crank the distortion and open up the tubes all the way. But if you stand far enough away, you'll be fine. And you can talk through them, which is kind of cute. Most importantly. GREAT SLIDE GUITAR!! ONE OF THE BEST!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 4
This is more due to the age of the guitar than the company, but the setup was pretty terrible. And it was missing frets. And a bridge. But I put an adjustable gibson style bridge on it, so it was pretty easy to fix the setup. Also, on mine, the controls were a bit noisy, but I got someone to clean up the pots inside the guitar. And I had to adjust the truss rod a little. I may even replace it later on, because it's still a little bowed.

Reliability/Durability : 6
The finish won't wear off any better or worse than the next guitar. And I don't think I would use it without a backup, only because it's like 40 years old. Plus, if you can you should always bring a backup for any guitar. NO guitar is perfect, or immune to being dropped or ran into etc.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I am almost certain the company doesn't exist anymore. So if you need help you're automatically calling a freelance expert.

Overall Rating : 10
I have only been playing for about 5 years. So no, I'm not an expert. But I know alot more than most people my age. I also play a fender stratocaster, american made, and greatly prefer the teisco's sound over that. I also own and play an Ibanez artcore bass (great bass by the way). But overall, I give this guitar a ten because mine was only $25. It sounds better than anything out there (for me anyway). A total bargain. And it's only $25, so of course it won't be perfect right out of the box. THE BEST $25 DOLLAR GUITAR YOU WILL EVER FIND.

wow, everyone hates this thing.not me!
okay anyway, this guitar ia an ET-200, because it has a tremelo, which i like because it gues up and down, i can play"kill yr idols"on it. it has the 2 de'armond mentioned by everyone else-the one bad thing about them is that when you touch them thet make bleeping weird feedback pops.some people have taken advantage of this by using it as a percussion thing (magik markers).i have it strung with 12s and it plays nicely.the body style is a tulip with a sunburst, yes it scratches, but that is ok. the tuners are in destructable!this summer when i went to minnesota i flew this thing up with me safely by stuffing my mom's taylor case with extra clothes and then jamming the guitar in with the trem bar shoved down.when i got there, it was in tune.btw. nice neck(FAT)

Sound : 10
i love the sound on this guitar.its my favorite over a fender jaguar and a kramer custom shop american deal, i play grunge, alternatie,no wave, noise, junk like that. and it works great for that. mine has a rich bassy sound that is like shellac mixed with late sonic youth. piano like bass and sharp highs.it is very noisey if you are not touching the metal on it. i think the grounding is messed up on mine.there are two switches on mine and they make it go from rich and twangy to twangy or bassey.i like it

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
hmmmmmmm ok.the action is good, it plays well. but my hardwear is sort of rusty, my finish is dented to hell and it is not properly grounded.when i bought it a wire was loose and it sounded like it was throwing up when i played it. mine has the tone thing wired backwards so when you turn it to 10 its 0 and when u turn it to 0 its 10. annoing

Reliability/Durability : 10
it is very solid it has lasted a long time!argh i would definately play it at a gig but i would have a backup because of multiple tunings i use.

Customer Support : No Opinion
they are all dead

Overall Rating : 9
its great, howver if i bought it again i would not trage it for a fender bullet.i would have just bought it with money. it was only 100$ anyway. if it was stolen i would be sad,but i would just buy another they are like 100$ off ebay

I guess it has um...a few features....it has volume and tone nobs...um...paint....a neck...and strings...oh and frets (score!) yea, no good features but I'll give it a 3 to make the poor thing happy.

Sound : 2
Hm...Teisco Del Rey, it resembles a guitar yet makes me cring as I hear its ear pearcing sound from the high notes which resembles a cat stuck between the hood of a ford mustang, and thats not a good sound, then the dull "bla" of the lows. And if you are daring enough to try distortion (you douchbag...) then you are in for a great sound if you like nothing but feedback....the worst feedback you have ever heard. Yet, the microphone pickups are good for this instance if you put youre mouth really close to them and say, "Luke, I am your father."

Action, Fit, & Finish : 2
Ok, who ever made this guitar was eather stoned out of his small mind, or he was a complete and total douchbag. Does that give you the picture?

Reliability/Durability : 6
Ill ive it props on durability...It has survived me and my friends hitting each other, strangers, siblings, pets, and other objects that have a "hit me" look to them, not to mention it still has the same strings (I didnt think it was worth new strings). Of course i did have to put dows in the old screw holes on the back of the neck because they were stripping. I wouldnt use it at a gig w/ out a back up though....what am i saying, i would never use this at a gig....

Customer Support : No Opinion
...Its a Teisco Del Roy, what would posses me to call the buggars, are they gonna build me a descent guitar....didnt think so

Overall Rating : 2
Yea, i wish it was a different guitar...that work for ya?

Well, I play a lot of grunge and hard rock and for that type of music it is a terrible guitar to use unless your smashing it. Of course, it doesn't sound like it would fit with any kind of music. It has a really weak, tinny sound. It is very faint and quiet even with my amp turned up. It has no range of sound. I do NOT like the sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 1
It wasn't set up very well, when I bought it from a friend it had to be tightened all over dramatically. The pickups were one thing I had to adjust over and over and never really got it quite right. The tuning keys are crap and obviously the cheapest available because they can Not keep the guitar in tune. The frets are not aligned very well on this guitarm and on several I had topushm them in place. The wood works like plywood and dents so easily. The paint is so thin any little bump will show through. The nobs are cheapo plastic and the pickups are just little microphones.

Reliability/Durability : 3
I think it would hold together for a little while but could not withstand being used in a concert. Things need to be re-tightened a lot and it could really use tuning after every couple songs.

Well, all I can say is that it's for sale. $55 US. Email me at pgarcia1010@yahoo.com if interested. I will have pictures to show.

What some may call a shimmering turd of a guitar, I call a nut-busting good time! This guitar was made during the 1960's, probably by someone who abused a lot of drugs. It has Volume and Tone knobs, which both are pretty worthless features if you ask me. I think the two big, square, metal pickups are microphones or something, because I can yell into them and hear my amplified voice over the amp. It has a weird funky shape, and it really makes me want to kill myself with a crab mallet. It has these cheap plastic knobs, and they are harder than pig dick to turn. But they do hold their tune. The pickguard is a scintillating stripe-stamped aluminum. This is one eye-catching guitar, kind of like when you see a retarded kid on the sidewalk.

Sound : 4
This guitar has that twangy sixties sound that technology has thankfully taken care of. I run it through a Fender Princeton 112 Plus, and it sounds almost like an acoustic-electric, due to those pickups that can amplify my neighbor's dog breathing. This guitar is noisy on all settings, and feeds back like a constipated banshee when you put any distortion on it at all. It has a rich, full sound, if you consider rich and full to mean horrible and noisy. The guitar can make sounds like Dying Fetus, Screeching Weasel, Flicker, and Blur. (Not the bands.) It is okay for clean strumming, if you are of a non-discriminating taste (deaf).

Action, Fit, & Finish : 3
The first action that comes to mind with this guitar is the one of vomiting and defecating at the same time. The pickups were adjusted rather well, for being peices of fetid garbage. The bridge routing and everything was as good as you could ask for, presuming you couldn't ask for anything good. The guitar's main flaw was that it was a Teisco Del Rey E200.

Reliability/Durability : 4
This guitar has lasted for this long, so I have to give it good marks on durability for that. But of course, dinosaur dung has lasted a long time too, and if you were to string up an old dino poonugget you could probably get a nicer sound out of it. The finish and the strap buttons are both solid - SOLID WASTE. I can depend on it to let me down time and time again.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with the filthy sadists.

Overall Rating : 3
What a piece of junk. What a waste of wood. What a horrible thing, this rancid guitar. It is worth as much as a flaming bag of poo and pee mixture.
