All original instrument; Great condition overall
Classic "tulip" shaped 1-piece solid body w/ original "Checkmate" headstock decal
Manufactured in Taiwan in mid-60's according to the metallic Model/Serial No. label on back of the body.

Simple, adjustable bridge, open tuners, tremolo
Bolt-on Fat neck typical of the period, with truss rod, 21-Frets

Would rate pickups a 10 for 60's tonal properties, but a 6 as compared to modern pickups
Play through Boss GT-6 patched to Roland AC-60
Rather quiet playing guitar
Some boominess, that comes with those old pickup, but I love that twangy tone that really carries blues, old rock, country western
Perfect for those tunes made for this guitar

Tuners needed lubrication but were fine thereafter
Received needing adustment/setup, but that was easily accomplished
No pickup adjustment
