Sunburst finish over who knows what kind of wood , made in Japan in the early to mid 60's. 3 Smoking single coil pickups with a brushed aluminum striped pickguard. 3 rocker switches, one for each pickup. Volume and Tone control. Rosewood fretboard with Maple neck. Vibrato with Huge chrome bridge cover. 4 on one side two on the other tuners.

Sound : 10
These pickups are hot. I love the neck pickup for a Blues sound as another review stated the neck and bridge together gives you a very unique sound. The bridge pickup by itself gives an overdriven Strat sound. Through a Champ or Blues Jr this Guitar smokes. I couldn't believe it when I picked it up and played it. This Guitar sounds like a pro quality instrument.

For a budget Guitar it is very well made. I'm sure that the cheap wood is how they saved as well as plastic tuner ferrels and tuner buttons. The set up is great on this Guitar. The truss rod adjust at the bottom of the neck and is easy to adjust. Pull the bridge cover off and you can adjust the string height with no problems. This guitar stll has the original electronics IE) Pot's Switches, Pickups and Cap's and still does the job great so the electronics are quality. Japan has long been known for great electonics and as I said for a budget Guitar it is super. I only going to give it a 9 because some of the cheap hardware but it has held up so I may be shorting it.

Reliability/Durability : 10
40 years old I bought used 4 years ago and it is still going strong. I have depended on this Guitar to do the job and it does it every time. You never gig without a backup but don't worry about this one failing you.

Teisco is long gone. Go to Teisco Twangers on the net to get your info.

I have been playing 30 years and own way too may Guiars to list. Strats, Paul's, Tele's, Hamer's, Ibanez, more Teisco's ( ET-200, E-100), a Rick 12 String, 1956 Gibson Country and Western and an Everly, 68 D-28 and on and on. I do alot of studio work in Nashville so I need to have alot of Guitars for alot of sounds. I have used this Teisco to record on several projects and people are floored by the sound. It is a top 5 Guitar for sound and number one in value. These guitars are not as plentiful as other teisco's so if it were lost or stolen I would have to hunt one down. I have seen a few with the trem bar and cover gone over the years so if you find one with both it is a bonus. If you see one give it and see what I talkiing about.

I have the 310N model. It's a solid dark teal color strat. Has a floating brige with whammy bar. Has 3 single coil pickups each with it's own on/off switch. Single volume and tone control knobs.

Sound : 9
I play mostly hard rock/metal and is sounds awsome. I love the fact that you can turn pickups on and off split second to get some awsome sounds. The only bad thing with mine at least is that when you thorw a distortion pedel in the mix the buzzing from the pickups is horrible until you start playing. It has a nice full yet bright clean sound with just the brigde and neck pickups on. I find the middle pickup gives too much mud to a clean sound, but for some distorted rock songs it gives that little added crunch. You can get some nice howling sounds from it. I use a big leslie two channel amp. I think that this guitar sounds just as good as some $500-$1000 guitars I've picked up and played.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
I think the action is a little slow. The necks not as smooth as it use to be, but it's still great for what I play. The neck fits my hand like a dream though. I got the guitar from music go round so the set up was a little off, but after adjusting the pickups and cleaning the electronics it sounded a lot better. Other then that it's a great guitar.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I have dropped this guitar more times then I like to remember, and the only thing that happened to it is that I chipped the finish at the very bottom by the strap peg. One sad account is that when I first got it I was stupid enough not to but the cord behind the strap and I stepped on it and pulled the input jack out of the pick guard. The pick guard contains the pickups and all the electronics. They are all screwed into the pick guard. Nothing is bolted to the body. That is one of the biggest flaws I would say about this guitar. Once I glued the guard back together everything still works great. I would and do depend on this guitar for live situations. You should never go without a back up though.

I've been playing for 10 years and I started with this guitar. I also have a Epiphone SG special a Harmony accustic a Fender Jazz Bass and a lille 3/4 size accustic. If I ever saw another Teisco I would buy it in a heart beat, I love this guitar. The only thing I don't like is the fact that all the electronics are connected to the pick guard and not the body.

Japanese, circa 1963. Solid-body, single volume and tone controls for three single-coil, switchable pickups. You can turn them all on at once. Zero fret. Sort of pukey green sunburst finish, a Strat-style headstock with the crown logo. I junked the crappy trem tailpiece and unintonatble bridge and had a tune-o-matic installed, along with a fixed "clamshell" tailpiece from Subway Guitars in Berkely (get one on the web for six bucks).

Sound : 10
I play rock and roll, but it'd be even better for blues. The pickups are really raunchy, and with all three on you'll overdrive your amp before you even adjust the gain. My favorite setting is the bridge and neck pickups without the middle; you get a nice, bright, Dick-Daley bite along with big, warm bass. For what I paid? Forget it. It's awesome.

I got it on eBay and it needed work. Now, with the changes I listed above (and a new set of Grover six-in-lines), it feels great. If you've been drinking a lot, you could mistake the neck for a 1951 Esquire. (Well, maybe some drugs, too.) Nice low action, very little buzz, plenty of bending room on the strings. Finish is junk, but it's forty-year-old junk, and looks really cool. Pickguard is striped brushed aluminum and looks absolutely fantastic.

Reliability/Durability : 9
It's solid, now that I fixed it. The electronics are clear and powerful. I'd depend on it, sure, but only a fool (or a pauper) would go to a gig without a backup.

Haw haw! Even if I learned Japanese, I'd probably be shouting it into somebody's grave. However, somebody has been reissuing these in Japan for something like $1500 (Teiscos in general, I mean, not this particular axe)--maybe they could help me.

Overall Rating : 10
I LOVE THIS GUITAR. Nobody else I know has one even remotely like it, it sounds terrific, and it looks like a swamp monster wearing a zoot suit. Plays like a dream. Get one quick before people figure out they don't suck.
