I recently purchased a 1973 Terada TR-1006 acoustic guitar. It is a 20 fret dreadnought style acoustic. It was made in Nagoya Japan. The top is solid spruce and the back and sides are laminated brazilian rosewood. It is a copy of a Martin D-28. The back has a zig-zag stripe running down the middle. It is a beautiful guitar. The fretboard is rosewood and so is the bridge. The bridge is an adjustable type. The fingerboard has rectangular type inlays. The tuners are enclosed and work great. It has a high gloss finish. It came with a cheap chipboard case which I have replaced with a nice hardshell case that fits it like a glove.

Sound : 9
This guitar does not sound like a laminated guitar. The bass on this thing is booming like a Martin D-28. My father-in-law has a 1968 Martin D-28 and he admitted that my guitar sounded alot like his Martin. The trebles and mids are really good on this guitar too. This guitar is extremely loud with lots of sustain. This guitar really sings. I will give it a 9 for sound because I have played better sounding acoustics ,but for about $1500 more.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The action on this thing is very low without any buzzing. It is very easy to play barre chords and I can play for hours at a time comfortably. The finish still looks really good for a 33 year old guitar. The bookmatched brazilian back is gorgeous.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar is constructed very well. It is still in great shape after 33 years of playing. I think it will last another 33 years if properly maintained.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I have not dealt with the company.

Overall Rating : 9
I have been playing for longer than I care to remember. I have owned dozens of acoustics, and this one ranks right up there with the best of them.I currently have a 1977 Guild D25M,Takamine EG523SC, Yamaha FG-340, and a Gibson Songbird. This guitar sounds as good as some of them and better than others. If I lost it or it was stolen, I would try to replace it. If you see one of these, play it and you will buy it.
