Made in the Sheffield, UK, from their custom shop and one of only twelve made every year. Trev Wilkinson PAF style pickups. all aged and vintage style finnish, soft but brilliant flame top - really stunning, perhaps one of the most attractive i've seen on any guitar.

Sound : 9
perfect. i play a lot of blues orientated rock (Led Zep, Free, Aerosmith, AC/DC...the usual) and the thick and warm tone that this guitar gives out is really very impressive. not yet pushed it to extremes or in live situation, but no reason to believe it wont deliver.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
guitar pretty well set up from factory. only problem is pick up covers resonate some of the sound when unplugged - but this is easily sorted out. otherwise perfect too. all hardware is aged with superficial scratches (this is the intent)and creates a very genuine looking vintage guitar, superior in many ways to the aged reissues that are comming out of the gibson custom shop.

this guitar is a real work of art and a lot of time has been personaly given to each model, making each of the 12 made per year idividual and distinguished in thier own way.

Reliability/Durability : 9
only time will tell....but the build quality appears flawless

Customer Support : 10
very good, i had read (on this website) tokai had a poor record for customer support, but i recieved a reply from the factory the day after i sent an email, and have even corresponded personally on the phone with them. very informative and helpful.

I would certianly recomend this guitar to anybody who enjoys les pauls, especially the character and style of the late 50's models - they really are outstanding and compare in every way to the Gibson LP's. And of course, with nearly half the price.

Guitar features a solid mahogany body, one piece mahongany neck, awesomely bookmatched, deeply flamed maple top, vintage violin finish, vintage tuners, Tokai PAF style pickups.

This amp hangs with the best Les Pauls I've ever played, and I'ved played a lot of them. I owned a Class 5 Les Paul some time ago, and I believe this guitar is every bit its equal in terms of sustain, chunk, and the PAF knockoff pickups are pretty nice, particularly the neck. I bought of a set of custom Duncan pickgups (i.e. a '59 neck and a JB in double-cream bobbins) and I'm seriosly considering just leaving the originals.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
This guitar shows great attention to detail. All appointments are spot-on replicas, and the finish and top on this guitar are second to none. The guy I bought this from actually went to the Tokai factory and hand-picked this guitar. Couldn't have done a better job. Awesome.

Played well straight from the factory. Frets are well leveled, neck relief required a little tweak, tribute to changing climates.

Tokai is messing around. These guitars are unreal.

Wow. This may be my perfect Les Paul. I've owned about 7 or 8 Les Pauls over the years, and this is the cream of the crop. Too nice. Don't waste any time: Buy an LS80f. You won't regret it.
