I play blues and rock. I have a roland 20x cube amp. At first I thought it sounded ok but it doesnt sound as ballsy as a les paul should. Overall I am not satisfied with the way this guitar sounds. It sounds dull and lifeless.

This guitar came poorly set up. The pickups were not fitted correctly. The action was too high. The tuners are absolutely awful. The thing will not stay in tune no matter what.

As I said before, I do not like this guitar. It does not stay in tune and does not sound good. I barely play it and I am searching for a new guitar.

I bought this guitar because in the UK quality guitars are hard to come by at decent prices. I initially wanted to buy an Epiphone Les Paul Elitist but I could not find one after contacting every Epiphone dealer in Europe. Thats not an exaggeration. Finally, after getting frustrated I decided to purchase a Tokai guitar after hearing very good things about them. This has been a major mistake. I paid 600 pound, which is $1200 for a very average guitar. The quality of the hardware is poor. The tuners are terrible. You would think at that price it would come with a hard case, but it doesnt. I have learned a big lesson from this experience - don't buy guitars off of Ebay. I will never buy a Tokai again.

Will do anything a Gibson Les Paul will do and leave plenty of change in your pocket. Old school Blues/Rock is my style and the 85F performs wonderfully. She runs thru a Mesa 20/20 power amp, 2 Avater single 12 cabs, and the Vox Tonelab SE. The sound is all Les Paul with a hint of PRS.

Everything about this intrument screams quality. Very well contructed and no visible flaws. Plays like a good Les Paul should.

Since I just got it, I will bring a back-up (always do). I think this is a no brainer. Built to last. I think this guitar will do fine.

Going on 39 years of playing. I own and have owned some of the best gear availible. I did all the reseach and actually knew about Tokais since the late '70s thru Nile Rodgers of Chic. If stolen, I would get a replacement (LS-150). I also own a black LS-75 which is the same but the finish.
I think that getting the vibe of a Gibson Les Paul Standard for a very resonable price is pretty sweet in my book. I have owned the real thing and I must say the Tokai Love Rock LS-85F VF is as vintage feeling as any Gibson product re-issue or relic. Why shouldn't it be..it's a replica down to the correct headstock. If your looking at Epiphone Les Pauls, do yourself a favor and get a Japanese Tokai first. You won't be sorry and the resale value hold better.
